"The first track, Maid in Bedlam introduces Kim Guy's distinctive, moody voice. Some use 'distinctive' without justification, this time it's precisely the right word - the range of her voice adds much to Elowen's sound." from Elowen review by Tim Carroll, FolkWords (www.folkwords.com).
"...I love Kim's haunting, somewhat deep vocals what that they do to lift the sound high above ground." from The Rowan Amber Mill 'Midsummers' review by Markus Eriksson from The Shadows Commence (The Shadows Commence.com)
Burnham FolkFest said:Wyrd Guy. This is Kim Guy of Elowen, and she delivers folk with an ancient spin. Reminiscent of Sandy Denny and Shelagh McDonald, her work is sparse and honed - nothing gets in the way of that beautiful voice and those fantastic songs. Chillingly good".

I've been wrestling with guitars since I was 10, when I used to record my efforts on an old portable tape recorder so that I could then harmonise with myself...a year later I discovered the joy of reverb in the stairwell of our old block of flats in Jo'burg. It's only taken a brief hiatus of 20-something years for me to pick my guitar back up and marry the two when I was given my Fostex MR8HD multitrack...And now, 2009, I've got a new studio set-up based around my computer and midi-controller and I'm intending that my debut solo album will be ready by early 2010. Thanks for listening!
Live harmony singing? That's a job for my band Elowen
- our debut album was released in 2008

They are so right! 'Don't make more new people'. I've been saying that for years. Sadly, no one listens to me! (on so many levels...). Anyhoo, the circle of life? Give me a fuglin' break! Circle of ever condensing shit, more like! I have spoken. x
Hiya Kim! Yeah, I'm still hanging around here...but more in facebook now. Most of the people here have a facebook page as well and it's more fun there...How are you? I've not been listening to much music online, because I have quit my proper internet connection and I'm only relying on an online stick, which does not let me listening to music most of the time:-( But I will order a new one soon, because that really sucks. I wish you a great weekend, my friend, and I always love to hear from you:-)
Hello Kim, weekendishly (word created by Teddy Mikalski) greetings from Germany. Just wanted to come around and take a listen....... Would be fine, if we could be there at yours, when you play the opening gig for Wizz Jones. We wish you all the fun and success, needed for that event. Groovy hours, the CC's
How are you lovely Kim Guy? We're looking forward to seeing you live somewhere sometime....you'll be able to spot us in the audience by our glasses! Peace! Paul and Vincent!
Hello Kim, how are things going there, while the midlands are flooded? Do you also need wellies and a boat for leaving the house at the banks of the river Fowey? Wet greetings from Germany, take care, Detlef
