x.a.cute started in 2000, hosting regular improv-sessions based on loops and riddims from their favourite rap, dub and jungle lps at berlin club kurvenstar. from the start the line-up was bass / drums / turntables along with live mixed visuals and a trustworthy dubmeister at the desk.
over the years they have continued to refine their style in various live situations, teaming up with local and international musicians such as rico repotente and yref on guitar, mc bomsh, mike ladd, guillermo e. brown, dub gabriel and mc wuzi khan.
sun ra bullock became x.a.cute's baby child, tailormade for dancefloor necessities: heavy bass action, dirty breaks, shameless sampling and noisy scratch attacks. starting with bo and noise on laptop and wheels of steel, it slowly grew into our current live outfit: the x.a.cute sound system, a mobile disco mashing up classics from xac, sun ra bullock and wuzi's disbanded hip-hop/dancehall-project das aaron with current productions from bo, noise & khan in a rub-a-dub style ... check it out in a warzone near you.
this spring sees the release of the empire ep on uk dj paizan's label anorakism. it's a collection of songs recorded over the last months with performances by the bo, the noise & the wuze, denis jabusch, rico repotente, mike ladd and non & dream of shadowhuntaz ...
