"Real" seems to be an accurate description for this Miami-based rapper, songwriter and lyricist. Xplicit, born Alexander Izquierdo, on March 25, 1988, in the City of Hialeah, has already made a mark in the hip hop community.
Although young, Xplicit has had to deal with extremely difficult circumstances that most do not encounter. From the challenges of dealing with his brother’s drug struggles to the incarceration of his childhood friend for murder, these negative situations have shaped who Xplicit is today. At age 12, Xplicit first turned to hip hop and music to express his frustrations and began to make his mark in the music community.
My music is something original, real and unique; “a breath of fresh air to hip hop,” as Xplicit would say. While forming his own craft, Xplicit credits Nas, Joe Budden, Jada Kiss, Trick Daddy and his cousin, local music producer Mario Gonzalez aka Shakespeare as his influences. He used his time writing lyrics about life around him and its struggles. These experiences created a foundation for his music today.
Before the age of 17, Xplicit would continue to record six mixtapes. At 18, he signed with MP Productions, a management company created by Mixtapeprinting.com.
January 2007, Xplicit began recording his first mixtape "The Beginning Vol. 1" under MP Productions management. Xplicit began promoting himself and his new music by opening up for anyone he could. Since January 2007, he has opened up for Cool N Dre, Fat Joe, Pitbull, Brisco, and many other artists, gaining fans with every performance. Opening up and being exposed to new crowds as well as seeing successful artists perform motivate Xplicit to use his talents to its full potential no matter what kind of crowd he has. "God blessed me with the talent, so I might as well use it. I love music, whether I'm performing for a crowd of 150,000 people, or in a room of 50 people."
While attending The Ozone Magazine Awards in September 2007 he was approached for an interview by Ozone Magazine, which was published in the October 2007 “Patiently Waiting” Issue.
A few months later Xplicit also appeared on MTV’s Hoodfab TV Show with Producer Dre from Cool N Dre, which scheduled to air May 2008
Following the release of "The Beginning Vol. 1" , Xplicit continued to work hard to grow as an artist and add to his fan base. He hit the studio in late 2007 to work on new ideas for tracks he had written. He collaborated with a few known local artists including Smitty (ghostwriter for P.Diddy and Dr. Dre) on the track "Get Money" which became huge in the streets of Miami and continues to show up on mixtapes worldwide. Xplicit also recorded "I Want You" with Pleasure P (formerly of Pretty Ricky); it has made its way to the internet and without any serious promotion, has become a fan favorite and continues to expand to new audiences. Xplicit loves the fan support for his music, but realizes there is a bigger picture. "The love for the music and fans is what keeps me striving".
His most recent collaboration, “WE GET MO," ft. Trapp Mendoza, has already made a huge impact on the South Florida streets since its release on May 1, 2008. Produced by Isaac Opus, “WE GET MO” has received great reviews by DJ's worldwide, and received over 100,000 plays its first week on MySpace. WEDR-FM 99 Jamz in South Florida was the first radio station to play the track along with California's DJ Warrior on his Cali Untouchable Radio Show on Sirius Satellite CH. 40. The song quickly made its way through DJ's worldwide and was ranked the 1 Independent Urban release for the month of May 2008.
Over the last year, Xplicit's popularity on the Internet has taken off. He has been featured on various websites from Miami’s 305hiphop.com to Bermuda’s Thaunderground.net. Also, Xplicit’s MySpace page has gained more than 41,000 fans and received over four million views.
Xplicit’s songwriting has quickly gained the attention of some of the industry's top producers and artists. He created the production group "THE MONSTERS" along side producer J BOOGIE and engineer Stefan Johnson. Aside from his in house projects he has spent his last few months writing music for big name artists such as RICH BOY ( produced by Jim Jonsin), TREY SONGZ (produced by The FlipTones), SNOOP DOGG (produced by Red Spyda) and several new artist for Slip N Slide Records (Produced by Monsters partner J BOOGIE).
His latest placement is "DIDDY BOPPIN" written for Diddy (produced by Isaac Opus)
The song which is rumored to be released in the next few weeks now even features Xplicit on the hook of the record. The song premiered on a past show of MAKING THE BAND4 as well as the season finale as Diddy was introduced. Xplicit continues to write music with a variety of top industry producers as he awaits upcoming placements for 2009.
