Who I'd like to meet: Who I meet is who I'll meet...Sometimes I think I prefer staring at lobsters crawling on each other in a tank; I can do this for hours. None of us humans are that special, next time you take a number 2 take a good look at it laying fallow in the bowl and repeat out loud to yourself, "I made that!"... However, I love people the most because they are more interesting than the universe. Otherwise, I would like to meet Shakira to hip hop dance with me or just people who are trapped in an act, living as a version of themselves based on what people around them want to see. This type of Myspace thing will be great for us in the future when we are all old and playing pee knuckle or mah jongg or drinking coffee in mcdonalds doing crossword puzzles alone after our spouses have died and kids have grown and friends are dead or too disabled to leave the house. It will be a really nice way to meet others just like us to play pee knuckle or mah jongg or drink coffee and do crossword puzzles in mcdonalds with.
Perhaps Mr. Panos can answer why only 25 out of 50 states have Greeks attending the event below. I got this in my email!!! I WAS SHOCKED! As as my Yiayia would say "Ime shock". Is this because there are only successful Greeks in the half the states or only Greeks livin in 25 states of the USA?? SAY IT IT ISN'T SO!!!

Greek America Foundation Launches Hellenic Legacy Fund; Aiming to Empower Young People with their Heritage
Much has been written about who is attending the Gabby Awards. It is true that this will be the single largest gathering of Greek American talent and success--ever in a single place. In addition to the celebrities and VIPs, people from 25 states--HALF OF THE UNITED STATES--have purchased tickets to attend the event on June 19th.
But why are so many people--such important people--traveling from far and near to support this project and attend the Gabby Awards?
The Greek America Foundation is the host of the Gabby Awards. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Gregory Pappas with a simple--yet profound mission to "promote, preserve and perpetuate the Greek culture, history and heritage" and in the process, to bring together like-minded people to support this cause and share their heritage.
In addition to publishing Greek America Magazine--the nation's most widely circulated periodical for Greek Americans--the Greek America Foundation has undertaken some impressive projects that have impacted thousands of people from coast to coast.
A nationwide book tour by best-selling author Giles Milton brought the story of the burning of Smyrna to thousands of people and most recently an exhibition entitled "Defenders of Democracy: The U.S. Response to Greece's Role in World War II" has traveled the nation telling the amazing story of Greece's role in the war and the response of the American people.
