You Shriek are Raziel Panic, John
O'Leary, and Skot Kremen. Their modern synthpop releases combine elements of
gothic, industrial, and intelligent dance music, invoking such influences as
Joy Division, Depeche Mode, and Einsturzende Neubauten.
Founded in the early 1990's, the
band quickly gained a devoted Boston following, frequenting such venues as ManRay
and the Rat. A cover of Bauhaus' "Bela Lugosi's Dead" featured on
the now-legendary Oxygen Denial vinyl compilation brought them an international
underground club hit in 1992. After a long hiatus from live work in the late
90's to write, record, and produce a full length disc (among other projects),
You Shriek have re-emerged on the New England live scene as an a-list underground
act. You Shriek's current release, "Unreal Cities", takes the listener
through a broad range of emotion and musical versatility. By combining poetic
melodies with exquisitely orchestrated organic and electronic instruments, You
Shriek define a new movement in progressive music.
Recently, You Shriek has performed with the likes of Wolfsheim, KMFDM, the Cruxshadows,
Bella Morte, Assemblage 23 and Funker Vogt. Onstage, frontman Raziel Panic's
presence is powerful and mesmerizing, while John and Skot perform sleight of
hand tricks around racks of keyboards, drum triggers and custom electronics,
all in the blue glow from the screens of their Mac laptops. You Shriek consistently
wins over audiences by bringing personality and presence to high-tech melodies,
with dancable rhythms and passionate vocals wrapped in lushly layered sequences.
We hope you're fine and we'll see you soon at one of our Live shows!
