Il gruppo musicale riunito sotto la giocosa sigla Yo Yo Mundi nasce alla fine degli anni '80 (Paolo Enrico Archetti Maestri, Andrea Cavalieri, Eugenio Merico, Fabio Martino sono i membri originari, a loro si unirà Fabrizio Barale nel 1996).
Il loro primo disco La Diserzione degli Animali del Circo, esce nel 1994 e da allora hanno pubblicato altri undici album (ecco alcuni titoli dei loro album: Sciopero, Alla Bellezza dei Margini, 54, Resistenza, La Banda Tom e altre Storie Partigiane, Fuoriusciti, Chang) e intrecciato il cammino artistico con diversi artisti tra i quali ricordiamo: Lella Costa, Ivano Fossati, Teresa De Sio, Violent Femmes, Marino e Sandro Severini - The Gang, Giuseppe Cederna, Eiffel 65 - Bloom 06, Franco Branciaroli, Michael Brook, Wu Ming, Stefano Tassinari, Massimo Carlotto, Francesco Di Bella (24 Grana), Guy Kyser, Beppe Quirici e Giorgio Gaber.
Davvero straordinaria e intensa la loro attività concertistica in Italia ed all'estero (di grande rilievo i tour in UK del 2006 e 2008).
Hanno dato vita a una casa di edizioni musicali, uno studio di registrazione e a un'etichetta discografica - la Sciopero Records - per dare spazio a tracce di musica spontanea e creare un nuovo spazio discografico nella nostra penisola.
Nel dicembre del 2008 esce per i Cd de Il Manifesto il loro nuovo disco di canzoni intitolato Album Rosso (sei anni dopo Alla Bellezza dei Margini). Questo album è davvero la sintesi della loro poetica (dopo i successi di "54", "Resistenza" e "Sciopero"), sedici intense tracce che descrivono con ironia ed emozione il disorientamento della sinistra e il desiderio di un'Italia migliore.
Canzoni d'amore, di lotta e di speranza con un testo inedito di Massimo Carlotto e la partecipazione di Steve Wickham (violinista dei The Waterboys), Maurizio Camardi, Patrizia Laquidara, Marco Rovelli, Suso, Alessio Lega, Paolo Bonfanti, Luca Olivieri e tantissimi altri amici musicanti.


The band behind playful name Yo Yo Mundi got together at the end of the eighties (Paolo Enrico Archetti Maestri, Andrea Cavalieri, Eugenio Merico, Fabio Martino are the original members, Fabrizio Barale joined them in 1996).
Their first record was released in 1994 titled "La Diserzione degli Animali del Circo" (the desertion of the animals of the circus). Since then they have published a further eleven records (such as: Sciopero, Alla Bellezza dei Margini, 54, Resistenza, La Banda Tom e altre storie partigiane, Fuoriusciti, Chang) and have met many artists in their career. We mention, among others, Lella Costa, Ivano Fossati, Teresa De Sio, Violent Femmes, Marino and Sandro Severini from The Gang, Giuseppe Cederna, Eiffel 65 - Bloom 06, Franco Branciaroli, Michael Brook, Wu Ming, Stefano Tassinari, Massimo Carlotto, Francesco Di Bella (24 Grana), Guy Kyser, Beppe Quirici and Giorgio Gaber.
Their live appearances in Italy and abroad are intense and extraordinary (prestigious tours in the UK in 2006 and 2008) They started out a publishing house, a recording studio and a record label – Sciopero Records, to host trails of spontaneous music and create a new space in the Italian peninsula record industry. Their new singer songwriters album is released by Il Manifesto cd records in december 2008, six years after their previous songs album "Alla Bellezza dei Margini" (To the beauty of the peripheries of the world). This album is the summary of their poetics following the succes of 54, Resistenza and Sciopero.
