| About YoYo Static |
We are YoYo Static and we're from Sheffield (exciting, huh?). James, sings, plays guitar and occasionally mangles the keys on an old Vox. He's the uncle to Patrick who hits his drums very hard indeed. Patrick is the son of Stephen who also sings a bit and plays bass. Then there is John, who is James' cousin and plays uberfuzz guitar. Anyway, one day when we were all a bit bored we decided to play together for a bit of fun. Soon we realised that we actually sounded alright. Some gigs followed but there was still something lacking. Enter Callum and Ben. Someone asked at a gig if Callum was in the group to improve overall sex appeal. That is true but he can also play saxophone in a cooool Roxy kind of a way. And Ben, well he's just left to get drunk for 3 years in Leeds but he'll be back to add his expertise with the pink noise button on his synth at random gigs

Sharp and spiky, with delicate vocals over glockenspiel one moment and fiery lyrics over jangly guitars the next, little bursts of electronic wizardry and a whole lot of musical energy, YoYo Static bring to mind bands like Franz Ferdinand, the Fall and at times even The Smiths.
