This Band Can Show You How Beautiful Chinese Language Can Ever Be
The band was founded by Xie Hui, Xie Jun and their good friend Lv Wenjian In 1997, located in Nanchang and named ‘Crystal’ in its early days.
After several membership adjustments in 2003, the band built up the final line-up as now. All the members quit their jobs, bought new instruments and equipment, and founded their own music studio. This year, the band focused on their own music creation and recorded Demos for other bands at the same time. For the band, this was a significant year, which indicated the beginning of professionalism.
In 2006, the band renamed as ‘Yuguo’ (‘fruits with feathers’ in Chinese) officially, and held two special concerts on March 18th and 25th, including an unplugged one.
In the same year, Yuguo went to Shanghai to improve their career as a professional band. During this period, the band began to form their mature style of music and stage performance: deep and steady voice parts, glorious and beautiful guitar accompaniment, sonorous and splendid vocal tone.
In 2007, Yuguo played at the main stage of the 8th Midi Festival, during which they held a special concert at The Star Live.
In addition, they published their significant works such as ‘Freedom’ on some rock magazines such as ‘So Rock!’, ‘Rock’, etc. Notwithstanding, some mainstream magazines such as ‘HIT’ and ‘5566’ are more interested in the classical style of band members.
In 2007, Yuguo released their first official album ‘Paradise Lost’, including their best works in several phases.
Now they are still holding their faith of music, understanding life in their own way of thinking, and never give up their honesty and love to music. In their opinion, rock is not only music but also one’s attitude toward himself and life. Maybe the same as what the name of this band says, they are waiting for the moment when they could let the matured fruits fly with wings.
