.. .. YUMI KUROSAWA - Koto Player/Composer/Improviser/Computer Sound .. .. Born and raised in Japan, Yumi Kurosawa began to study Koto, a traditional Japanese 13-strings-Koto, when she was three. She received first prize in a national competition for students in 1989 and 1992, and a scholarship from the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan in 1998. She played in the Prague Cello Ensemble Concert at Suntory Hall, Tokyo, on television (NHK) Genjimonogatari-Wakana, and in extensive performances in Japan. She has toured in Canada, Germany, Malaysia, Russia and the United States. In 2002, Kurosawa moved to New York and made her Carnegie Hall debut at Weill Recital Hall. She played in the premiers of two versions in NYC and England (string quartet, Orchestra) of Daron Hagen's Koto Concerto Genji and has played it subsequently in many other places. She played in Opera The Memory Stone at Houston Grand Opera. She collaborates with various artists of different genres. Her first original album, Beginning of a Journey, was released in 2009. BA of International Relations, also studied in Computer Music lab at Keio University, Tokyo. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー .. .. 黒澤有美 - １３＆２０絃箏/作曲/即興/コンピューターサウンド .. .. ３歳より両親である黒澤和雄、千賀子のもと13絃箏を、15歳で吉村七重師のもと20絃箏を始める。全国小中学生箏曲コンクール、及び全国高校生邦楽コンクールにて優勝、'98年には文化庁芸術インターンシップ研修員を修了。'93年プラハチェロ合奏団日本公演(サントリーホール、小ホール)にて共演、NHKテレビ「源氏物語—若菜」に出演。東京を中心に演奏活動をし、アメリカ、カナダ、マレーシア、ロシア、ドイツコンサートツアーに参加。 '02年、拠点をニューヨークに移し、これまで主に、カーネギー、ワイルリサイタルホールにてリサイタル、アポロサウンドステージ、WNYCラジオ、Blue Note、Joe's Pub、Silk Road Project Workshop等、コンサート、イベントに出演。'09年、全曲オリジナルCD「Beginning of a Journey」をリリース。'10年、国際交流基金の派遣により、中南米４カ国ツアー。'11年、「箏コンチェルト源氏」のソリストとして、イギリスのOrchestra of the Swanと世界初演、その後もNYワールドファイナンシャルセンター、ワシントンDC等でVoxare String Quartet、The Lark Quartet, Arianna String Quartetと度々再演している。チェルシーミュージックフェスティバル、ヒューストングランドオペラ「The Memory Stone」に出演。様々なジャンルのアーティストとコラボレーションもし、また慶應大学在学中にComputer Music研究室に所属していたことから、自作曲に使用する。20絃の音楽、テクニックを模索し続け、垣根のない音楽で、その活動範囲は多岐に渡る。これまでに、ニューヨークタイムズ、ワシントンポスト紙等にコンサートの模様が度々取り上げられ、好評を得ている。
