Hey folks! I grew up in Texas, Kentucky, West Virginia, and California. In 1999, I graduated from Abilene Christian University in Texas with a Math degree and moved to Nashville two days later, determined not to use it. Except maybe to count my money.
For seven years, I toured the country playing at small colleges as a solo coffeehouse act. It was a great time to mature as a singer-songwriter and figure out who I really am. My wife Jodi and I got to go to 46 states together, and we had a blast! In 2007 I signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music and became a "professional songwriter". In the fall of 2008, Jodi and I moved back to Texas to be close to family and start a family of our own.
Texas has been wonderful to me since we've been back! The music scene here is a great fit for what I do---it's been really inspiring and encouraging. A lot of great things have been happening in 2009! Jason Michael Carroll has recorded my song "Hurry Home" and it's currently climbing the Billboard country singles chart. There's a video and everything...check it out at www.JasonMichaelCarroll.com. I'm also coming out soon with a new album produced by the great Radney Foster which I am VERY excited about.
