...With her faux air of Billie Holiday on helium, her resolutely oblique approach and flair for catchy melodies, she rapidly gained a devoted following, and the arrival of her sophomore effort is likely to help her reach a far wider audience. This is pop music as it should be enjoyed by all.

...Zeebee, Österreicherin mit einer Stimme, die einen natürlich an Billie Holliday und Macy Gray erinnert, hat zusammen mit verschiedensten Musikern und mit Produktionshilfe von Potuznik ein Album voller Hits aufgenommen, die eigentlich alle ein Video bräuchten - und schon wäre Zeebee ein Star. Glücklicherweise braucht man davon keine mehr. Und so kann man die Platte einfach so als die besseren Portishead feiern, ohne sich Sorgen zu machen, dass irgendwann ein Problem draus wird. Breitwandigste Popmusik mit viel grossem Orchestercharme..

...Der Erfolg scheint wirklich vorprogrammiert, und ich wünschte, irgendeine überpromotete österreichische jazzige Joni-Mitchell-Parodie würde Zeebee nur ein Zehntel ihres Promo-Budgets überlassen, damit man sieht, was dabei herauskommt. Viel Glück!

...Austria's Zeebee, though virtually unknown here, already has enough of a life story to fill two volumes of autobiography. Early, teenage tours with Pigbag, a host of albums with D-Sire in the 80's, paying her way through flying school (dreaming of becoming a pilot acrobat) by working as a ghostwriter, then a three year purple patch that saw her write 187 songs, many of them via internet collaborations with the likes of Scott McFadyen and Jeffrey Math. Ten of them appear here, groove-driven trips enlivened by her enchantingly drowsy, little girl lost voice; a vessel that evokes a half-awake Alison Goldfrapp, or a consumptive Beth Gibbons bending a knee to Eartha Kitt. If pushed for a tag, try midday noir, for the darkness here is lively and the languor intoxicating.
