Mario Cronje did a Masters degree in Music Technology (cum laude) with the thesis topic: "Designing a hyperinstrument with gesture interface for musical performance". Mario is not only a Java software developer, but also a part-time lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch where he is teaching Pro Tools HD, audio recording techniques, sound synthesis and music application computer programming. Before his electronic music revolution, Mario was also a choir conductor, member of various well-known choirs, composer and pipe organist, while obtaining his Licentiate in Choirmastership. Mario is an extremely passionate musician and enjoys expressing his skills through composing tracks on Pro Tools and Ableton Live, using analog synths. He has been active as music producer of numerous CD projects, including genres from full symphonic orchestra concerts to even Kwaito . He is very enthusiastic about the music of Paul van Dyk, Faithless, Goldfish, but also Arvo Pärt and Palestrina..........................................................................................................
Leonie Avenant studied Music Technology and Vocal Training at the London Centre of Contemporary Music - BTEC HND (2005 - UK). She was taught by various well-known Producers, Studio Engineers and Musicians such as Nick Hunt, Caspar Kedros, Toby Baker and Pete Zeldman. She also studied singing at the University of Stellenbosch (1997 – 1998). She has been involved in many musical projects such as: Cast Member and Soul Girl: Jesus Christ Superstar, Wycombe Swan Theatre, UK. Cast Member: Tribute to Tim Rice, Night of 1000 Voices, Royal Albert Hall, London. Cast Member: Carnival Messiah, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds. Cast Member: KEANE Music Video, 'Everybodys Changing'. Band Member of Sunsoma (an Indie Rock Band – signed with Oneill’s Europe Surf DVD). She played the keyboard and did Backing Vocals at many exciting venues all over London and the UK. Back in South Africa, she is now involved with ZeeQ, a live electronic band. They compose and produce uplifting European and Eastern flavoured dance tracks that recently featured on 5fm, Mfm and RSG...................................................................................................................
Hannelore Olivier - Improvisational artist, composer, pianist, lecturer - Hannelore performs regularly, amongst other, with the likes of 'Theatresport' and the groundbreaking electronic dance trio ZEEQ. This group composes and performs live electronic dance and lounge music - forever pushing the boundaries of genre and cultural restrictions with, amongst other, Hindi and Arabic fusion tracks. Their music has featured on various radio stations, including 5fm, RSG, Mfm, Helderberg. In addition to these, she has pulled off a vast number of successful, bohemian and sometimes rather daring musical collaborations with film producers, fine artists, theatre groups and cabaret performers - in the capacity of composer, songwriter, improviser, musical director and accompanist. Obtained degrees in music and psychology, and a masters in music technology from the University of Stellenbosch. Her publication Musical Networks: The Case for a Neural Network Methodology in Advertisement Music (2005) proved to be the first time the subject of SA advertisement music based on a Artificial Neural Network-paradigm has been studied in this country. She worked as a sound engineer for 2 years before living and travelling in Korea, Taiwan and South-East Asia for 3 years. She has completed various collaborations on film scoring ventures, musical stage productions, KKNK productions (2000 -2008); art projects (music for graphic novels & installations), as well as a few WWW-based music technology projects.
