Throw a Chemical Brother, a Super Nintendo, a dusty box of vinyl records, and a stockpile of synthesizers into a blender, and what do you get?
zircon – aka Andrew Aversa – has been fueling his electronic dance music releases and remixes with an unusual combination of sonic sources and influences for the last five years. It’s a recipe that has earned his second album Impulse Prime the Best Techno Album and Best Techno Song of the year at the Just Plain Folks awards in 2006.
In addition to three albums and one EP released under the "zircon" moniker, Aversa has over a dozen remixes featured on OverClocked ReMix (from old-school video games), highly-lauded dance remixes of Philly-area rockers IKE and Octane, and a number of original songs written for a wide range of clients, including game developers, filmmakers, and hardware companies.
zircon was recently recognized at the 2006 JPF Music Awards, with his second album "Impulse Prime" taking home "Best Techno Album" and "Best Techno Song". His latest record, "Antigravity", reflects a wide range of influences, from BT and The Crystal Method to Fatboy Slim and Moby, and has already infiltrated houses and airwaves worldwide.

Hey zircon, thanks for accepting the friend request. I'm an avid fan of your OC Remixes and especially your original work. I've been enjoying Mass Media Constant lately...I wasn't sure what to think of the EP as a whole as it is not in a style that is my cup of tea really (unlike Antigravity which very definitely is), but MMC exhibits your usual traits - excellent production, fairly progressive, very melodic and varied in timbre and instrumentation - so for me there was no reason NOT to like this release aswell. <3 Nimbus.
Anyway, thank you for creating and releasing great music for me to listen to and enjoy...and for giving me something to aspire to with my own music.
