Sounds Like
New Age beauty, with the rhythmic feel and synth work of electro-chill; and with hooks as memorable as any great pop song. Melodies from moody to uplifting; on grand piano, laid across a swath of detailed layers and textures...
The theme for 2008 is "Hope, Destiny, and Choice". The album intends to be a further exploration into the 7and5 sound palette, with an emotional undercurrent of how these 3 things shape our lives and outlooks.
Whether a fatalist or not, there is always "hope" which drive us forward and allows for optimism in even the worst of times. Often, it is the concept that we all have a greater "destiny" that is the source of this hope. But, ultimately, I believe it is our "choice" that makes us who we are, and the force that carries us to wherever we go. Apologies to those who may believe in pre-destination...
In 2006, 7and5 released "In A Moment's Time", and with the symbolism of the lightning strike cover, channeled the mood; both positive and negative, of how things can change instantly...in the blink of an eye, or "in a moment's time". It was very critically acclaimed and produced 3 1's and 8 Top 10's on various New Age and Electronic Music charts at Broadjam.com.
2007 saw the release of "Trading Stories". Again as evidenced by the cover, was to be a more upbeat and uplifting album. The cover is a heavily treated picture that originally came from the artwork on a children's carnival ride. 3 more number 1's at Broadjam, 6 Top 10's so far, and "Sleepwalking" was voted to the list of The Best Of 2007 by Mystic Soundscapes Internet Radio (www.mysticsoundscapes.com. Thanks Pete)
