Bio: Megumi is the most decorated female grappler in all of Japan and arguably pound-for-pound the best female fighter in the world. Japanese National Sambo and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu (BJJ) champion, Five 2nd place finishes in the World Sambo Championships, Ground Impact professional BJJ tournament champion, 2004, 2006 BJJ Pan-am champion and 2005 ADCC -60kg earning 3rd place by defeating Gazzy Parmen with a toe hold in 48 seconds. She earned another 3rd place finish in the 2007 ADCC World Championships.
Trained by Shooto veteran Hiroyuki Abe and UFC Champion, King of Pancrase, PRIDE fighter Josh Barnett, she is considered the strongest female grappler in Japan and is also the former trainer of undefeated Smack Girl light weight champion, Satoko Shinashi and current trainer top fighter Hitomi Akano and 2007 ADCC world champion and BJJ World Runner-up, Sayaka Shioda. Megumi fought in the main event of Hook-n-Shoot: Evolution defeating Erica Montoya, then defeated formerly undefeated BJJ fighter Anna Michelle Dantas, and dutch kickboxer Nadia van der Wel in Shooto. She recently won her match by toe hold in :48 seconds in the inaugural Professional Submission League event in Santa Monica CA and disposed of a 20lb heavier foe in Smackgirl's 6.30.06 Top Girl Battle.
In 2008 she entered the Smackgirl World Remix Tournament at 52kg and has submitted opponents on her way to the finals. BJJ Black Belt Cindy Hales and Korean super striker, Ham Su Hi both tapped out to cross arm lock holds and now Megumi faces Michelli Tavres in a rematch for the crown.
Known for her aggressive attacking style of wrestling, dynamic and explosive submissions puncutate her matches. She is looking to prove her ranking as the number one fighter in the world at 52kg across the globe.
hi sweet heart how are you doing? good i hope , sorry its been a while for a message or a comment, i had a mma fight in japan, i won now my record is 5-0-0 ,i have two fights line up soon but i don't which one to take, this is how its line up for me , one fight is a ammy light heavyweight belt fight, the other is a pro fight with a opp for a future ufc, fight which one do you think i should take?
