"Radiohead meets Neil Young for a pint of Organic Stout!"
Aaron was born on Saltspring Island BC, and raised at the end of an isolated inlet on the west coast of northern Vancouver Island, then Vancouver BC. Since then, he has spent much time moving between urban centres (Vancouver, Berlin, Cardiff) and BC’s rural West Coast.
This moving between city and country has helped to give Aaron’s music a unique perspective. His love of acoustic instruments and folk music traditions, coupled with an urban sensibility, produces a distinctive blend of progressively alternative folk-rock. This perspective can also be seen in Aaron’s lyrical content, where references to the natural world run through much of his work.
Since graduating from the Jazz Studies Program at Malaspina University-College in Nanaimo BC, Aaron has worked as a professional freelance guitarist in a wide variety of musical genres. He also works as a private guitar Instructor in Vancouver BC.
During the spring of 2007, Aaron Cadwaladr recorded his debut EP "Shape Changing Sky". This 6 song EP showcases an eclectic sample of Aaron’s original material, with 4 of the songs recorded with a full band and 2 songs performed solo. Shape Changing Sky was released in November 2007.
Aaron's Debut Full length album, "Wade Through the Dark", is scheduled to be released in summer 2009. Stay tuned for release details!
