Aaron Thomas’ second LP Made of Wood, is to be released in Spain and Portugal and digitally to the world, on October the 26th, 2009. Physical release will follow for the rest of the world at the beginning of January, 2010. It was recorded and mastered in Madrid and Reykjavik by Valgeir Sigurdsson (Björk, Bonnie Prince Billy, Camille) in July and August of this year, and mastered in Nashville, Tennessee by Eric Conn and Don Cobb (Raconteurs, Neil Young, Alison Krauss, Willie Nelson) in September. The first single, Made of Wood, is already on all good radios and, with its accompanying video, directed by Alonso J. Luján, on TVs and the web as well.
Aaron was born in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia) in 1976, and was surrounded by music from an early age. His father is a guitarist and singer who has released two albums and his stepfather, Lonnie Lee, has a long list of number one hits in Australia. He’s spent the years since his 18th birthday, when he moved to the Ukraine, soaking up different cultures, people and music. On this album is the music of someone who has traveled and who loves to travel whilst never fully feeling at home. On MADE OF WOOD, apart from Aaron, there is the input of three Spaniards, four Icelanders, an American and an English girl and guy.
After traveling to the Ukraine and later to the US, Aaron ended up in Madrid, Spain where he has been living, composing and performing ever since.
His first album release was Follow the Elephants (Everlasting records / Recordings From the Other Side, 2008), recorded and mixed in Madrid by singer, guitarist, writer and poet, Julio de la Rosa (El Hombre Burbuja). Follow the Elephants led to invitations to play and sell his record in the US (CMJ and South by South West, in New York and Austin, Texas), the UK (Concrete and Glass, London), Germany (PopKomm in Berlin) and his native Australia (various headline shows and supports in different cities). Meanwhile Aaron was writing, rehearsing with his band - plucked from the best acts on Madrid’s avant-garde and indie circuits – Jorge Fuertes on drums and percussion (Doss, Pleasure Fuckers, NudoZurdo), Javi Díez-Ena on the stand-up bass (Dead Capo, Insecto, Ainara Legardon), Rebecca Lander on backing vocals (The Knot, Roman Lieske, Alek Stark, Kracovia), and Abraham Boba (Nacho Vegas, Julio de la Rosa), and recording a few demos for his new record.

Aaron Thomas es un cantante y compositor Australiano que empezo a escribir y tocar musica hace unos diez años. Ha realizado giras por Australia y España y ha tocado en festivales de musica como Popkomm (Berlin), CMJ (New York) y SXSW (Austin) con su primer disco Follow the Elephants. Residente en la actualidad en Madrid, acaba de completar la grabación de su segundo album titulado "Made of Wood" con el productor Valgeir Sigurdsson (Bjork, Bonnie Prince Billy, Ane Brun, Coco Rosie, Camille, Sam Amidon, Nico Muhly). Grabado en Madrid con su banda y luego con Aaron solo en Reykjavik, Islandia, esta listo para publicarse en todo el mundo en enero 2010 y aqui en España al finales de Octubre 2009 .

Me fascina. Es el resumen sobre mi opinión del nuevo disco. Los temas, al igual que los del anterior, han conseguido emocionarme y eso no es nada fácil... Tuve la oportunidad de escuchar estos temas en directo pero ahora están en reproducción continua en mi casa...
Se palpa el sentimiento y eso es lo más importante para que un disco sea especial.
