The Freedom Files: The Death Penalty
In "Freedom to Live: The Death Penalty," the compelling stories of people personally affected by the U.S.'s death penalty system offer a unique window into the system’s unfairness and inhumanity. Their firsthand accounts show how the system executes people for crimes they did not commit, and sends mentally ill people who can't even recall their crimes to their deaths. They also reveal a system that burdens the poor with abysmal legal counsel, deprives prisoners forever of an opportunity for redemption and reformation, and does nothing to help survivors in their healing process.

About me:
The ACLU was founded by Roger Baldwin, Crystal Eastman, Albert DeSilver and others in 1920. We are nonprofit and nonpartisan oganization devoted to preserving and protecting the most fundamental civil liberties as guaranteed by the United States Constitution. We currently boast more than 500,000 members and supporters nationwide, and handle nearly 6,000 court cases annually from offices in almost every state.
The ACLU has maintained the position that civil liberties must be respected, even in times of national emergency. The ACLU is supported by annual dues and contributions from its members, plus grants from private foundations and individuals. We do not receive any government funding.
NO HATE IN OUR TOWN, HARRISBURG: SEPTEMBER 1, 2007
On September 1, the anti-immigrant group Voice of the People held a rally in Harrisburg. In response, the ACLU of PA and several of our allies organized "No Hate in Our Town" to stand up to the divisive rhetoric of VOP.

Real ID: A Real Nightmare
This 90-second Freedom Files video short looks at the federal Real ID Act that may be on its way to your local motor vehicles office, where it would bring longer lines, worse service, bureaucratic nightmares, and higher fees – and turn your driver’s license into a true federalized national identity card that will be used to invade our privacy in ways Americans have never seen before.
Children Confined
This two-minute Freedom Files video short provides a shocking glimpse into conditions at a Texas facility to detain immigrants run by the Department of Homeland Security. Of the approximately 400 detainees at the Hutto Detention Facility, many are children who belong to refugee families seeking political asylum in the U.S. after escaping persecution in their country of origin.

Come join my cause: Keystone Progress! You will be able to recruit friends, raise money, and add a profile badge to show your support!
Keystone Progress is a multi-issue progressive advocacy organization that combines cutting edge online organizing and communications with rapid and hard-hitting earned media strategies. Year round, Keystone Progress will work to engage citizens from across Pennsylvania around issues of immediate state or local concern.
Our mission is to provide a strong, credible voice in advancing progressive solutions to critical community problems. But we don’t do that on our own – we work as a communications team for the entire progressive community.
We’re a marketing department for progressive ideas – a campaign that never stops. We work year-round to challenge conservative propaganda in the media and make sure that progressive perspectives are heard.
By working together and uniting around issues important to Pennsylvania residents, we will:
* Build a stronger progressive movement in Pennsylvania. We will use innovative, internet-based organizing and communications strategies and tactics to dramatically expand active public support for progressive issues and policies.
* Secure major advances in progressive public policy.
Working with other progressive groups, we will use the power of real people to encourage bold policy changes
