Ajalon is a progressive rock trio from Seattle Washington. Their music is on the more melodic side of the prog-rock spectrum. If you think you'd like solid, song-oriented melodic rock, played with occasional nods to Marillion, Yes, Genesis, & The Moody Blues - then you should be in quite comfortable territory here. The members of Ajalon, Wil Henderson on Vocals and Guitar, Dan Lile on Drums and Randy George on Keyboards, Bass and Guitar, got together to create the music of their own liking. Starting in 1994 with their first CD release coming just 2 years later through the efforts of Yes Keyboard wizard, Rick Wakeman. Wakeman also appears as a guest soloist on their second CD along with Phil Keaggy and Neal Morse. Ajalon's 15 years has proved to be a long and winding road, but we see that he who persists will conquer. Signed with ProgRock Records in 2005, Ajalon has just released their third CD called “This Good Place”. There are seven songs which will no doubt reinvent the band as we know it. Most will find it quite different from anything the band has done in the past. "We have always made the music that was in us to make. We certainly are guided by our influences, but we mostly just let the music happen naturally. We wanted to make an album that speaks to everyone, leaving room for listeners to draw their own conclusions. Much life-changing experiences were brought to bare on this project making it unique and different". The performances and the songwriting is much heavier with a great deal of impact. All members of Ajalon are or at one time or another have been part of the acclaimed “Parallels – The Music Of Yes” Tribute band in Seattle. It was here that Keyboardist Jonathan Sindelman, Guitarist Alan Genatossio and vocalist Robyn Dawn came to be guest musicians on the CD. It was no coincidence that the last four years of learning to play Yes music live, has served the band well on many levels. Together these incredibly talented musicians have brought Ajalon’s music to the live stage.
To Dan and Randy, two of my oldest friends. Your new CD "This Good Place" is just fantastic. It's going to be easy to listen to this a bunch of times. The material, playing and lyrics are top notch, but as a writer and arranger I think the arrangements are basically flawless. I'll write you individually but I loved the CD and wanted to give it a public endorsement. rock ON, john.
