Alchemy of Woodstock, Inc., is located at 297 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498 (formerly the Peterson House). We're in the Bearsville Theater Complex with the Bear Cafe and the Little Bear. Our phone number is 845-684-5068.
The house was once owned by Albert Grossman who was the manager for Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, Peter Paul & Mary and many many others. This was one of their favorite hangouts.
Alchemy is a coffee house /bookstore with free WiFi that will serve as space for the Woodstock community to celebrate the spirit of creativity. Our menu features healthy comfort food, including coffee, tea, smoothies, all-day fare, and baked goods, at affordable prices. We use fresh, organic, locally grown ingredients whenever possible to ensure great taste and support local farmers.
Our book selection features handpicked non-fiction and fiction titles that focus on inspired living and self-expression, and our retail merchandise will highlight the work of local artisans. The café and “living room” area also serve as gallery space to promote the work of regional artists. We host book and poetry readings, writers’ workshops, and lectures and to offer live acoustic music, with an emphasis on showcasing local musicians. The rooms on the second floor of the house will be available for ongoing workshops and talks.
Alchemy presents only the highest quality music acts including local, regional and national artists. The living room with it's wood burning fire place and stained glass windows is the perfect setting for an intimate evening with wonderful acts.
Our hope is that Alchemy will serve as a fun and vibrant gathering place for local residents and tourists alike—a space that encourages creativity, community, consciousness, the free exchange of ideas, and generally, the pursuit of living the best life possible.
We are very excited to breathe new life into a building with such architectural beauty and rich history and to share it with others in a meaningful way. We are here to embrace and build on the magical, creative energy that has come to define Woodstock.
Just stopping in to say hi. How's your week so far. Everything is great on this end. My new band, HEDON is now going to put the tunes into set form. Once we work on segways and get them down solid, we will start booking gigs. Wish us luck. Have a great Wednesday. Cheers. RAY
I'm walking sixty miles in November in honor of my friend Jen Hoffmann who recently lost her battle with breast cancer. She faced it with courage and grace. I am walking with team thrivr. A team she started, and I am past 50% of my goal of 7500.00. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment. Please donate to this cause at the link below and sponsor me for the benefit of women everywhere. Thanx in advance. Marco
Thanks for the add and friendship. It's great to have you as a friend on myspace. Please feel free to stop by anytime and say hi. And if you get a chance, please give my songs a listen. I would love to know what you think of them. Take care and have a great week. Cheers. Ray
It’s been 40 years since The Band played at Woodstock, and nearly 33 years since their farewell concert, The Last Waltz. But while The Band may be long gone from the stage, The THE BAND Band is keeping their sound and spirit alive and well. They are as close as it gets to the real thing, authentically performing timeless classics such as "The Weight", "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", and “Up On Cripple Creek” from The Band's legendary repertoire.
Saturday, October 31st at 8:00 p.m. Alchemy of Woodstock 297 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY 12498 845-684-5068.

The unprecedented musical performance will feature artists from across the country on stage at the Sylvan Amphitheater adjacent to the Washington Monument. The concert will feature a line-up of original tunes focusing on issues such as economic justice, redistribution of wealth, salary disparity, bailouts, foreclosures and the general impact of rampant greed.
