Aleph-1 is an Ann Arbor based power trio forging a wholly unique sonic path since their inception in the early parts of 2007. Pioneering a genre that has been described as "Prog-tronica", their music channels the energy and gusto of the power trios of yesteryear, filtered through a distinctly 21st century worldview. Fluent in the language of modern musical technology, yet still able to captivate an audience with seat-of-the-pants, freewheeling musicianship, their music has drawn comparisons to artists as diverse as STS9, Dr. Dre, and Danny Elfman. Their self-titled debut album, a collaboration with producer Devin Kerr, was released in February of 2008.
