"Who knew there was such dark and interesting music coming straight outta Kansas City?"
-Paste Magazine.
Stemming from former bands such as The Black Water, Sky Burial, Sister Mary Rotten Crotch among others, American Catastrophe explores the americana, the rural grit, the murderer and the romantic. A world of the seedy where one can die choking on the dove of peace or be beaten to death by a bouquet of roses.
American Catastrophe has most commonly been described as "Dark Americana" and have shared the stage with the likes of Slim Cessna's Auto Club, Munly and the Lee Lewis Harlots, The Reverend Glasseye, Humanwine, The Veils, The Ponys and many more. Their first album "Excerpts from the Broken Bone Choir" has received excellent reviews from Pitchfork, Paste, popmatters, AMG, among others; debuted on the CMJ charts at 166 and has received international radio play.

Come check out our band on the 15th, this coming Sunday, at the Mission Theater. We would love for you to see us. We enjoy your music and think we can help out your quest to show Kansas City dark and interesting music. Hope to see you there. -TomSnare
Hello there. I just wanted to let you know that Too Much Rock posted up photos of your show on Tuesday November 4th, 2008 at The Record Bar in Kansas City, MO with Brighton, MA & Ghosty.
Thanks for coming out to see our show at NXNE. Sorry everybody had such a busy weekend, we would've liked to hang out some more. Stay in touch and hopefully we'll see you again soon.
Hi A.C., cool to be found by you...how was your NXNE set @ The Dakota? Love your vibe so I hope the room was packed. Had fun crosstown @ The Savannah, an appreciative crowd...Hope you had a good Canadian experience :-) Pauline/Sleeps Six
I thought your set at Davey's Uptown was awesome. There's such a perfection about you guys. People need that kind of perfection in their life. Oh and hey, is it wrong of me to think Amy is absolutely HOT???? To balance out her being so hot with Terrence whipping out a banjo, that's just nuts.
Thanks for the request and supporting Arctic Rodeo Recordings. Please feel free to check out our artists and releases at http://www.arcticrodeorecordings.com
Great show tonight!!! You four always rock a room, but I thought that crowd was paying extra close attention. Also, you all look skinnier. Especially the dude in the middle and the chick on the bass. Although I still insist that I get to hear AmCat someday out of no-where throw in a cover of ABC by the Jackson 5.
