ITALIANO Stefano Banno' alias Anansi nasce a Trento nel 1989 da genitori siciliani. Fin dall'infanzia, dimostra un'inclinazione naturale verso la musica e in particolare verso la composizione. Dal suo primo contatto con la musica all'eta' di 9 anni, impara gradualmente a suonare chitarra, basso e percussioni e all'eta' di 13 anni scrive la sua prima canzone "No Racism", mostrando precocemente il suo impegno sociale e politico. Due anni dopo fonda i Buffalo Soldiers (Stefano Anderle, Stefano Neri, Tomas Pincigher e Giovanni Formilan) e inizia a esibirsi in live in tutto il Trentino - Alto Adige a festival come "Sfumature 2005", Maggio Rock 2005", "Destortom 2006". Nel 2006 si trasferisce in Irlanda, dove scopre nuovi aspetti della sua musica e della sua vita. Mentre frequenta l'ultimo anno di scuola superiore ed ha ancora 17 anni, suona in un pub di Carlow ogni lunedì' sera per guadagnarsi qualche soldo, fingendo di essere maggiorenne e sperando che nessuno gli chieda mai la carta d'identità. Durante la sua permanenza all'estero, suona nelle strade di Londra, Dublino, Galway e Kilkenny, sempre in viaggio con uno zaino e una chitarra. Si trova in Irlanda quando sceglie il suo pseudonimo Anansi e la sua scelta e' confermata da uno strano sogno sui ragni. Si esibisce con il cantautore Joe Cleere e si unisce alla band reggae di Kilkenny Ghost Town. Suona parecchi concerti in giro per il Sud-est d'Irlanda e registra il suo primo album solista. Nel 2007-2008 torna ad esibirsi in giro per il Nord Est d'Italia a festival come "Mesiano 2008", "Matscher Au Open Air Festival 2008", "Dolomiti Ski Jazz 2009". Tra agosto e ottobre 2008 Anansi collabora con l'etichetta indipendente tedesca Big Belly Records e scrive il pezzo "Love me or leave me alone" (Picker Riddim), la sua prima uscita ufficiale. In giugno 2009 esce il suo primo album solista "Anansi" con Distar Records, disponibile in tutta Italia e nei music store online. Si esibisce nell’estate 2009 al Calabash Club di Berlino con Fire Foundation e I-Shence e a festival come il “Rototom Sunsplash” nella Showcase Area, “Rafanass 2009” (in apertura a Anthony B), “Wintersplash 2010” e “MI AMI ANCORA”. In luglio 2009 entra nella band ROY PACI & ARETUSKA, la più famosa reggae/ska/patchanka band italiana, come MC/Vocalist e si esibisce in tutta Europa, suonando a importanti festival come Nuke Festival (Wiesen, Austria), Das Fest (Karlsruhe, Germania), Le Nuits Du Sud (Vence, Francia), Musica del Mondo (Isola d'Elba, Italia), Demofest (Lamezia Terme, Italia), La Mar de Musicas (Cartagena, Spagna), Fiesta de Santiago (Santiago de Compostela, Spagna), Salento Summer Festival (Lecce, Italia), Etnafest (Catania, Italy), Negro Festival (Salerno, Italy). In ottobre 2009 suona con Roy Paci & Aretuska a New York e nel New Jersey. Nel maggio 2010 esce “Latinista”, ultimo album di Roy Paci & Aretuska, in cui Anansi affianca quella del musicista siciliano come co-interprete e co-autore. Durante il rispettivo tour promozionale “Mundo Tour”, la band fa tappa in molte citta' italiane in occasione di eventi molto importanti, come il “Primo Maggio” di Roma, il “Womad Festival” a Palermo e gli MTV DAYS a Torino. Nell'estate 2010 ha modo di collaborare in studio con Antonio De Marianis (batterista della band salentina SteelA), producendo un remake della celebre “Guess Who's Coming To Dinner” e con Bizzarri Records, incidendo la tune “Love Is Clear”. In ottobre 2010, insieme alla famiglia Aretuska, Anansi partecipa a HitWeek, durante la quale ha modo di esibirsi nei celebri club “Le Poisson Rouge” di New York ed “El Rey Theatre” di Los Angeles, dividendo il palco con Negrita ed Apres La Classe. La musica di Anansi è ispirata da molti generi diversi, tra cui il reggae, l’hip hop, il pop e il rock attraverso i quali vuole esprimere i temi più significativi delle sue canzoni: la pace, la tolleranza tra i popoli, la positività, l’autostima e la coscienza della responsabilità sociale. ENGLISH Stefano Bannò aka Anansi was born in Trento (Italy) in 1989 to Sicilian parents. Since childhood, he has showed a natural aptitude for music, and song writing in particular. Since his first contact with music at the age of nine, he has gradually learnt to play guitar, bass, drums and percussions and at the age of just thirteen wrote his first song “No Racism”, precociously showing his social and political commitment in his music. Two years later he founded the Buffalo Soldiers and started performing live around Trentino-South Tyrol at festivals like “Sfumature 2005”, “Maggio Rock 2005”, “Destortom 2006”. In 2006 he moved to Ireland, where he discovered some new aspects of his music and life. Meanwhile he was attending his last year of secondary school and was still seventeen, he played in a pub in Carlow every Monday night just to earn a little money, pretending to be eighteen and hoping that no one would ever ask for his ID. During his stay abroad, he also busked in the streets of London, Dublin, Galway and Kilkenny, travelling around with a rucksack and a guitar. He was in Ireland when he chose his stage-name Anansi and his choice was confirmed by a strange dream he had about spiders. He performed with singer/songwriter Joe Cleere and joined Kilkenny reggae outfit - Ghost Town. He played several gigs around the South East of Ireland and gradually recorded his first solo album. In 2007/2008 Anansi performed at events like “Mesiano 2008”, “Matscher Au Open Air Festival 2008”, "Dolomiti Ski Jazz 2009". Between August and October 2008 Anansi collaborated with Big Belly Records, a German independent label, and wrote the song “Love Me Or Leave Me Alone” (Picker Riddim), his first official release. In June 2009 his first solo album "Anansi" was released by Distar Records and is now available all over Italy and in the online music stores.
