Horror influenced dark harsh electro industrial ebm with elements of power noise/electronics, dark ambient, idm, old school electro with a punk rock and metal edge plus some severely distorted vocals of doom!!
Established as the solo project of John Thomas (aka: Kaiju) in 1999.
The focus of the project was to combine dark harsh industrial/electro/ebm with elements of power noise, idm, and dark ambient.
In 2000, the demo CD-R "Modified" was released (ltd to 100 copies).
DSBP Records received the demo and signed Andraculoid that same year.
It was also decided that Kaiju's own record label Optikon Rekords would join forces with DSBP as brother labels and the two labels released the "Static Landscapes" compilation debuting many of the bands on the Optikon roster.
In 2001, the first Andraculoid album "Observations in Human Error" was released and was received well by fans of harsh + dark electronic music.
One of these people happened to be Mika Goedrijk, Kaiju's friend from This Morn' Omina. After hearing Mika's positive response toward the cd, Kaiju invited him to join the project. Mika accepted and in 2001 Andraculoid became a duo and an international project!
Over the next 3 years Kaiju and Mika worked on the follow up cd "Imbalance".
Other people started getting involved in the cd as well. Jesse (aka: Destro) from Skeletal Meltdown would collaborate with Andraculoid on "Metamorphosis" and "Grave Danger". Jim (aka: Hiem) from Rein-Forced (ex. Forced) would lend vocals to the track "Parasitik". Kaiju's girlfriend Kara (aka: Kara-tek) would lend vocals to "Isolated Thoughts".
Somewhere around this time This Morn' Omina started getting a lot of recognition and was signed to Ant-Zen. Mika also started working on two other projects - Nebula-H & Pow(d)er Pussy.
Because of his busy schedule it was decided that Kaiju would write the songs for "Imbalance" and Mika would add his musical input as the songs were finished and do the final master at his Atomic Studios in Belgium. The duo completed the album in late 2003 and the "Imbalance" album was released early in 2004. The album has been a great success and is already in its second pressing. 2005 - 2006 saw Andraculoid playing live shows again and work slowly begun on the next cd release. 2007 - 2008 a few new songs were written and live shows were played, but overall the band was put on hold for awhile. 2009 will finally see the return of Andraculoid after a long hiatus between albums with a new ep and then an album in 2010. Expect to see more live shows in 2009 on, new merch (shirts etc.), and a large amount of promotion once the new album hits.
