This CD was recorded August 2008 in Toronto, ON at Canterbury Studio’s with Canada’s finest musicians and Andre’s original songs. His music is very reminiscent of classic Rhythm & Blues with a big sound and 5 piece horn section which you don’t see too often these days. Andre’s songs have been skillfully written and are compared to the Blues Brothers, The Commitments, Wilson Pickett, and Otis Redding. Each song has a little bit of a different flavor, “Free Ride Blues” has a down and funky sound that’s madly energetic and gets people dancing, “Second Chance” is very bluesy and soul filled, and a Neil Young cover of “Heart of Gold” where the horns keep the intensity levels high and a groove with a contagious enthusiasm.
Andre Bisson is a Hamilton, ON musician, with a great presence and vocals with the power of Wilson Pickett as well as the gentle sound of Otis Redding and Sam Cooke, he has a gutsy, raspy and passionate/soulful voice. He is a great arranger, guitar player, businessman, and of course, he’s very down to earth. Andre has no problem delivering his songs with a heavy groove line making everyone in the room sit up and listen, in venues all over Hamilton, Burlington, Mississauga, Streetsville, Milton, and Sault Ste Marie.
