I am lost in a trap of my own mind
Its doors (which it now has) slam shut
And inside them there is my being
Crying inside the darkness inside the doors
Looking for a way out of the fear that mothered me
And into the halls of Valhalla were my fathers are
Crying from the past to the future a tear for now
Making every human around me stand up immediately
These balls of crystal ice from my heart will never melt
Frozen inside these crystals for most of my youth
My age can only spew the fire from this weary brain
From its sun and through the heart of winter
Deep inside these darkened layers of ice
Were my being desires to erase chalk lines of past
And compose the future of the world with a fucking blast

what's the deal with "Peculiar..." it's like a combination of two old songs made into a new one.

For sure bro. I've been wanting to talk to a creative mind for quite some time now. It is lonely being lonely.

is kerouac really hard for you to read? it took me a long time to finish dharma bums, despite it's relatively short length. i feel like there were certain parts that got very descriptive and tedious. it's not a bad thing, by any means - usually, they led to moments of illumination - it just took a while to get through.

why are you nervous about coming back to the city? and what are your plans for the summer?

i, too, am considering downsizing. my apartment seems much too big for three small girls. three small girls seem too many for one thinking brain. although, i do wonder if a smaller space would provide less room to get lost or more room for clutter (which often leads to loss and revelations, anyway).

only dharma bums. i've been slowly sifting through a book of his haikus. i think i'm going to start reading on the road soon. maybe even tomorrow. i've got the itch to travel lately.

i'm diggin 'tree branch' and the reworking of 'down kedzie'. i've been listening to the 69 songs vol. 1 alot lately. i was in a slump for a bit, but finally recorded 7 jams this weekend. 3 are just insane noise, 1 grizzly bear cover, and 3 new tunes, 1 of which i plan to add to the split. still need to either rework the 'waiting on a ghost' or write another. hope you're feeling better and i need you back in the city asap. it's getting pretty lonely and my roommate is never around.
