For Lamarche, attention to the music, consistency and dedication are key. As a freelance drummer, it is this, along with his easy-going attitude, ability and skill, that have continued to earn him recording sessions and a place on North American and world stages with some of Canada's most prominent acts. While perhaps best known for his rock performances, Lamarche frequently branches out into other genres. "I think the key to being busy is being as diverse as possible and learning as much as I can," he explains. "The entire music industry has changed, so it's important to understand how to incorporate it all."
Lamarche has definitely been busy, 2009 has seen Lamarche playing with multiple artists From original acts like Sal Piamonte, the Robert Farrell Band and Cherry Suede, has seen him traveling around Ontario, Quebec and Northern New York. Later this year Lamarche will be back out touring with David Gogo and others.
During 2008 Lamarche continued some of his regular gigs as well as a few dates with British Guitarist Jon Amor, and the opening of the Ottawa Winterlude 2008 Festival in sub-zero temperatures for three weeks in January on the Snowbowl stage. Lamarche backed-up Quebec artists Le Groupe Swing and the Campbell Brothers. "I never thought I’d be doing a gig in the freezing cold and blizzard like snow, but we sure had fun!"
The Fall of 2007 had Lamarche touring with David Gogo in Europe, the band performed several dates including live radio recordings for Radio Bremen in Germany and the Paul Jones Show at BBC 2 in London, England. Other dates with David Gogo also saw the band doing shows with the legendary Johnny Winter and Buddy Guy. Earlier in 2007 the Robert Farrell Band was part of the 23rd Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.
The summers of 2004 and 2005 saw him on the road with blues rocker David Gogo, 2005 Maple Blues Awards Guitarist of the Year, playing festivals and clubs throughout eastern Canada and the United States for audiences of up to 25,000, and opening for B.B. King, ZZ Top, The Tragically Hip and other top acts.
