Cuban at Tito's. Archaeology. History. People, places and things. I keep in shape from yoga to boxing to martial arts. Personal journals and collections of observations. I like blogs, however knowing that they may not age well (I can't pull out a dusty old blog from my shelf or buy a blog in a charming bookstore, can I?) adds a lingering sadness to the process. And yet, I blog. A mystery indeed!
Music
The Pixies. The Smiths. Coldplay. The Chillipeppers. U2. The Beastie Boys. Jack Johnson. The Fugees. It's possible that someone can like both old Depeche Mode and Heavy Metal! I'll give anything a chance, however I have special respect for any band that accomplishes longevity...
Movies
28 Weeks Later was better then the original. Nightwatch and Daywatch are sooo fun to watch.
Television
No time for real tv- A special shout-out to the crew at Chasing History's Monsters and Letterman, though! I like my shows in dvd format. Currently catching up on 24, Heroes, Serenity and Entourage. I've got my full series of Angel and Buffy on the shelf, aging like a fine wine.
Books
I spend my life in books researching.
But it can't all be serious reading. "People", "Time" and "Entertainment Weekly" keep me somewhat aware of pop culture and the latest adoption by Brangelina. I follow underground novels like Deathlands and Outlanders.
Thanks to friends, I'm also a fan of smartly-written comics and graphic novels. If you don't read "Runaways", you should! Sometimes I'll buy a comic randomly if Tim Bradstreet has created the cover. Good stuff. And season eight of Buffy rocks.
Heroes
Sabine Ehrenfeld, a classy model with a pilot's license.
Eddie, gutsy owner of Eddie's Gym.
Joan of Arc. The chick had balls- gotta give her that.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE is now in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten so far:
“SACRIFICE is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend SACRIFICE.” —Famous Monsters of Filmland
“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes
I finally finished up a project I have been working on closely with my homie DJ Trippin' over the past few months. The idea was to take a handful of my freestyles, studio tracks, and b-sides I've recorded over the last year and combine them all to a 1 track mix. All mixing, scratching, and juggling was performed by DJ Trippin'. The effort is available for high quality download by clicking the cover below!
Did you ever notice that History Channel now has Monster Hunters? Similar to what you do with Chasing History's Monsters? I think that bares looking into! ;)
