After being a dedicated fan since 1980, performing in a singing contest and winning it, Antflavour was born.
Initially, it was just a solo act but after doing a stint in Tenerife, gaining a manager back in the Uk & doing a number of low key Uk performances, it was decided putting a band together was the best way of re-creating the sound and atmosphere generated by Adam & The Ants. This happened as part of a project by Dave Donald B.A. whom was putting a website & music video together as part of his art & media degree. Whilst deciding how best to film a music promo, it was decided that a live performance would be filmed, we had the use of a venue & cameras but something was missing - musicians!
After a meeting with some local musicians, a rehearsal was arranged to see if a band could be put together to compliment what was already being done as a solo artist, but only for filming purposes. Reheasals went well & a gig was arranged & with the website completed it was "game on"
The gig went down a storm & the rest is history!!
Not only do we cater for the hardcore Antfans, we also bring Antmusic to a new generation.
Ex Adam & The Ants drummer Terry Lee Miall recently performed onstage with us at Antfest 2007 in Birmingham (Thanks Matt & Terry!!), which was a dream come true & ex Adam & the Ants Bassist Kevin Mooney was also present at that particular show.
Terry Lee Miall recently performed with us again, in Reading (May 2008) for our acoustic show, this time providing backing vocals & playing the tambourine. A great night was had by all.
Lead singer Simon Clarke realised his dream in September 2006, when he met Adam Ant - twice in the space of a week at the book signings for his autobiography. Simon presented Adam with an Antflavour DVD & CD while dressed in full Ant costume at the first meeting in Manchester!!
Adam Ant's long term friend & co-songwriter Marco Pirroni has also mentioned Antflavour on his forum, saying that he was "Very Flattered" & "Liked" our version of 'Cartrouble', which can be heard here. Simon recently met Marco at Antlib 2007 in London, which Antflavour headlined. Albeit a brief meeting, Simon felt very honoured!
The band recently featured on Bill Bailey's BBC Radio 2 show & Simon recently appeared on Sky Tv show "Maddie's Got Talent"

im nearly done, but its been great all the way so far, id love to meet him, im starting my own band at the moment and im hugely inspired by him, would love to work with him one day, bit of a long shot though,haha. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
