Recent news:
Antoine just released a CD of new instrumental music with his trio (info bellow) and is currently working on a pop/R&B album with his new band SHANGANI featuring Charles Chemery on vocal.
In June of last year, Antoine performed at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood for Warren Beatty's (televised) AFI Life Achievement Ceremony on stage with Praz (of the Fugees) and R&B star Amerie.
Press Quotes on trio and new record:
“This collection should go a long way in spreading the word about Antoine Salem, one of jazz guitar's best kept secrets. With "Small Homey Arsenal", Salem and his trio have created a sophisticated, mature and worldly album that is at times playful and poignant. Salem draws heavily from the old world of jazz guitar, though his playing retains a freshness and inventiveness that is thoroughly modern. This is a brilliantly crafted piece of work and Mr. Salem deserves all the recognition that this album will continue to receive. Nice work!”

"...the Antoine Salem trio was wonderfully refreshing with it's blend
of modern jazz and Brazilian grooves wrapped up in an all original
set..." -Music Connection
"...one of the best young trio we've heard in a long time was the Antoine Salem Trio at the AFI Festival 2006"

Hey Antoine, You know I love what you do and now visiting your page I see that you play with Matt Mayhall! Birds of a feather..... I have an upcoming show with him as well.
So here's the deal....
Nick Mancini(vibes), Joe Bagg(organ) and Matt Mayhall(drums) are amazing players and I have been spying on each of them individually for the last year! One fine summers eve I happen upon this bouquet of funk'sters in Hollywood and used some cheesy line like "You and I could make beautiful music together," and the rest is history!
We have an amazing show lined up with 'hers/his/& ours" arrangements of our favorite standards (jazz, blues, Beatles and yes The Turtles too!) and we'd be honored if you'd join us for this historical moment!
WwAoaAoo°° !! t'es un maestro...je kiff ta music mon gars!...il y a un morceau qui es né d'une p'tit jam chez ton papa..tu te souviens ?...son titre c'est SALEM..ha!...jette une oreille !!... saudade mic
Takes Divinity to recognize Divinity! The feeling is mutual - I'm just tryna create a scenario in which we can play together again... at the very least (which is not bad at all) to be in your audience once again.
