People try to hide from their influences, as if they came up on a sound isolated from the pack. While this is the ideal, it is usually based around a scene or a love of a particular type of music. Take us, for example:
From the 60's: The Beatles, Kinks, The Who, Bowie | From the 70's: Pink Floyd, Buzzcocks, Ramones, Kraftwerk, Cheap Trick | From the 80's: New Order, Joy Division, Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Cure, Thompson Twins | From the 90's: Blur, Radiohead and Nirvana
Now: Anything Box, more Anything Box. Although we also listen to Ladytron, Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Artic Monkeys, The Diary, The Lamented, Goodbye July, and more really great music.
In spite of these influences, we remain ourselves. Aren't you glad you just read all that just to have us tell you this? Er... Sorry.
Why don't you just listen to the music, dress how you like, cut your hair or leave it long, and be you. That sounds good. Oh yeah. Kiss someone. Get practice.
Sounds Like
Driving your car through a moonlit night, on your way to a club where the pulsating music will make you sweat and you will dance your brains out. Then, after that, you are driving, aware of all your surroundings, and in the morning there is no hangover, and the sun doesn't hurt your eyes. The world seems better somehow.
OR...
Being at the window of your room as you type away at your screen, feeling lonely and dejected, wishing someone would put things right. After all, things can't be that bad, right?

| Anything Box: En Castellano |

Many politicians are in the habit of laying it down as a self-evident proposition that no people ought to be free till they are fit to use their freedom. The maxim is worthy of the fool in the old story who resolved not to go into the water till he had learned to swim. ~ Safe and Sane Fourth of July... All My Love xxx
