Hello, my name is Claude, and I am The Diary. I live in a world of my own making. Reality is that which we create. That is as long as there's good people, music you can dance to, a cup of really good coffee, surrealist art on the walls, and ideas flowing in your head. This is about you, too. I can't exist without you.
As you can see from the truly diverse people on this site, this music is for you, the real you, not just the JetSet, the Glamourous, the Beautiful, the Punk, the New Wave, although you are all welcome too.

Kraftwerk - It's more fun to compute. Buzzcocks - Great Songs, great energy. Nirvana - What can I say? Anything Box - I love my bandmates. Radiohead - Correlation does seem odd. Beastie Boys - The best Hip Hop

The album "Separate" is a time machine that goes to New York, circa 1978, makes a stop at New Order's studio in Manchester (1983), then zooms way into the future (2013), where old buildings rise above the tops of trees and good tunes still fill the air with rebellion and passion, while the girls walk on the computer generated beaches. Sexy. Raw. Energy. Robots. Epunk.

The Diary is the working alias of Claude S. born in Rosario, Argentina (raised in NJ) and now residing in Fullerton, CA. When he isn't fronting his other band, Anything Box, painting, or writing in his many journals, The Diary escapes into both the past and an impending future using punk beats, computers, and digital glitches. Some people call this New Wave. Well, call it what you will, it exists soley to make you feel emotion, so be careful. The underlying theme? Claude's life. He drowned in a lake, kissed a girl underwater, had a dream about John Lennon, gives up the monsters, and documents it in the only way he knows: ART. With this new album 'Separate', Claude blends the electronics of Abox with a trip into late 70's punk, recalling the innocent stylings of the New York School of what WLIR used to call 'New Music'. There are no ballads on this album, but your singing voice is sure to come out and join in.
