About me:
Apocalypse Meow is an annual event held by the Nonprofit organization Midwest Music Foundation to help raise funds for a Musicians Health Care Fund for Artists living and working in Kansas City and the surrounding areas. The MMF aims to create mechanisms where Musicians, Live Sound Engineers, Music Club Employees, and Recording Engineers can gain affordable access to health care.The Apocalypse Meow Fund was created in 2008 when local Musician Abigail Henderson was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her friends and community rallied around her and raised money to help get her over some daunting financial hurdles. The aim of this year's event is to help build a reserve fund and begin looking towards other health care options for the collective music community.
