First and foremost I would like to thank the Creator, Allah for giving me the gift of life and the talent to go forward; if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here doing what I love and do best. The following people have helped to inspire me, there's too many to mention but let me name a few, RIP the God Father of Soul himself, Mr James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder, Melvin Parker, Clyde Stuberfield, Jabo Starks, Roy Aryes, Fela and Femi Kuti, Tony Allen, Sun Ra. Earl Klugh, Johnny P, Battlecat, Havoc, Dr Dre, Alchemist, Just Blaze, Hi tec, J Dilla, RZA, Premo, Kanye West, Pete Rock, Daz Dillinger, Neptunes, Dj Quick, The Prodigy, Masters at Work, Ron Hardy, Mr V, Basement Jaxx, Norman Cook, Karl Tuff Enuff Brown, Todd Edwards, Mike Dean, Kerri Chandler, 4 Hero, A Guy Called Gerald, Frank Rogers, Moby, Kaidi Tatham and Bugz in the Attic. Aaaaaaaaaaaah, there's just too many to mention, the list goes on and on and I'd rather not so I'm out.
Music is a thing you cant touch but you can most definitely feel and I've been dabbling in the music business since 1997. I got into it more seriously four years ago, producing a diverse array of sounds from hip hop to broken beats to deep house. My music is heavily influenced by my African heritage which includes the Conga Natty sound. I've always been way ahead of the game when it came to listening to a diverse selection of music, listening to sounds before they hit the commercial market, including hard core, jungle, hip hop, house, broken beats, rare grooves and not forgetting hi life. I started making beats on my Sony Play Station 2, and my cousin introduced me to a programme called Music 2000. I use to make beats on there and then record them to my stereo and gives the tapes to my friends so they could rap over them. I didn't think they were anything special at the time but friends kept telling me to take it more seriously and that I had a talent. In 2002 my cousin introduced me to Fruity Loops and I started making beats on that, not taking it too seriously either. I just use to make different beats and experiment with sounds on the programme. I would love to learn how to use different music programmes but for now Fruity Loops is my partner in crime. To be honest though things started to get real serious for me on Boxing Day 2005 when I produced the underground track Dutty Dance for Supa D, it was an instant hit. There's nothing like being in a rave and seeing people go buck wild to your track. I would have to say this is when I started to get real recognition and decided to make a follow up track 'The Siegalizer'. The Siegalizer is another underground track that I made in my bedroom, basically where all my tracks are made. Since joining 'My Space' four months ago I have been able to net work with a lot of different artists and producers giving me the opportunity to play my music to a wider audience and receive fed back. I have had nothing but encouragement and positive feed back; receiving a high volume of requests for me to produce and remix different tracks. During 2007 I will be collaborating with Dexplisit, to name but one, making some real intelligent Soulful House. Right now I would like to big up all up and coming producers, but for now enough of the chit chat cause I'm out. Peace, One Love Apple.
