Apryl Electra is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who began playing piano at the age of six months and started composing music at the age of six years. She writes all of her original material on piano, guitar and/or bass and does her own drum, synthesizer and bass programming.
Apryl Electra’s first CD, From the Padded Cell of Suburbia, is a mix of rock ballads that tell of heartache to songs that speak of strength and empowerment. AE has even created her own style which she calls “electracousticlash”. Electracousticlash is an intelligent mix of acoustic piano and/or guitar accompanied by programmed drum beats, synth bass and other synthesizer sounds and melodies.
In July of 2005 Apryl Electra founded Artcele Records. Now, along with continuing to write electracousticlash music, AE is putting the final touches on her second CD and playing shows around the Twin Cities.
She hopes to tour in the near future.
