The Early Days:
Curtis Lehr, in november of 2008, decided to put 2 songs of about the same length into Audacity, funnel one into a respective ear, and slow them down... he decided after 3 of those that he needed to actually chop them up a bit, so he got a folk-ish sound and made it a loop and made a bass drum out of a rapper saying "-chise" (originaly "Franchise") and thought he needed to start using samples.
Transition:
He made a few song in audacity using only 2-3 samples each, and decided that they started to sound horrendous, so then he learned how to use Renoise, and has only gone back for nostalgia purposes.
Tiring:
Once he made about 10 songs out of samples, he found out about softsynths, and only uses drum samples now. Eventually after trying out a conglomerations of different genres, he listened to Selected Ambient Works 85-92 by Aphex Twin, and decided thats what he wanted to sound like.
Now:
He then started using more space-ey sounds and reverb, and liked it so much that he kept going with it, and that brings us to now.
