   About Argiflex
The Early Days:

Curtis Lehr, in november of 2008, decided to put 2 songs of about the same length into Audacity, funnel one into a respective ear, and slow them down... he decided after 3 of those that he needed to actually chop them up a bit, so he got a folk-ish sound and made it a loop and made a bass drum out of a rapper saying "-chise" (originaly "Franchise") and thought he needed to start using samples.

Transition:

He made a few song in audacity using only 2-3 samples each, and decided that they started to sound horrendous, so then he learned how to use Renoise, and has only gone back for nostalgia purposes.

Tiring:

Once he made about 10 songs out of samples, he found out about softsynths, and only uses drum samples now. Eventually after trying out a conglomerations of different genres, he listened to Selected Ambient Works 85-92 by Aphex Twin, and decided thats what he wanted to sound like.

Now:

He then started using more space-ey sounds and reverb, and liked it so much that he kept going with it, and that brings us to now.

Heh, it probably won't happen for a good while. Saving a bit of money to buy a Visa Gift Card so I can get GTA4 on Steam, then I'll think about the 25$ needed to transfer myself over... Haha.

We'll see, though...

Haha, I'm playing on the Maiev server currently, character name is "Didderknight", but yeah, planning to transfer off of that server. Doesn't have enough people, imo.

Depends on the type of files, do you mean from wav or whatever? I use DBpoweramp since it basically tells you to input a file and it spits out an mp3 of your choosing. A ton of formats (You're not limited to 128kbps constant bit rate garbage like Audacity generally forces) and a lot less hassle makes it my preferable choice, but don't expect to do any editing with it. It's strictly for transcoding files.

Hopefully that helped... The setup might be a pain, but once it's working you'll really find that it was worth the effort. VBR mp3 ftw :D

Hahaha, well for starters, no. I AM hoping to print some vinyls of the new release at some point, but for now just a standard digital release, unfortunately. I've got a habit of calling albums LPs, sorry about that...

Well, I use FL but I'm pretty sure we can pass tracks around and try to make a song.

Hahah, yeah it was meant to be a joke but it turned out decent I'm thinking. I don't have any plans to release it, though. I'm actually taking a number of these tracks off my page in preparation for an upcoming set of releases, so yeah, keep watch. Thanks man :D

Heh... I don't really know why I'm getting so many hits :/ Sometimes people just spam my page with plays, so I don't have any idea. >_<

But hey, hope you can get a release set up, haha!

Haha, Ableton! Sweet deal man, sounds like things are making progress, yeah? :D I've been using mostly Reaktor recently, with FL Studio as an interface (For sequencing notes that are played via Reaktor, really. FL Studio could easily be replaced with any other software at this point since I'm really just using it to tell Reaktor to play sequences, everything is done right THROUGH Reaktor. :D) So I've been writing an album too, though I'm afraid to release it a mere two/three months after my last, so I'm just going to hold off and continue reworking and improving the tracks until I know I can't do anything beyond what I've already got, which might take a while, haha. Definitely put out some releases, upload some tracks and try to spread the word about yourself--it's sad seeing that you're still under 1000 views because you ought to have a lot more by now, haha! :D Your music's good, haha.

My label does their releases on Internet Archive too, I've yet to really embrace their music uploading system yet... I really ought to look into it. :/

Hey man, how's everything been? :D I haven't been as active on this profile because I've been writing tracks like crazy but I'm hoping to get some more new material uploaded... Most of the tracks on my profile right now are either not on the new album (Removed, being used as B-Sides) or they're demo versions of songs that have been heavily improved, haha.

Hope things are good on your end. :)

I tried to ironically juxtapose "Ambient" and "Hardcore" once, and I gave it a rest when some bright individual asked where the hardcore was.

Haha, well, that's a really good price. I saw some at the Guitar Center website, I'm going to head over there sometime in the next few weeks and give it a look.

I highly doubt I'll really be using any tabs for it, though. I generally play by ear with songs if I play along with them at all, and I'm planning to take Music Concept for the next few years so I'm hoping I'll get somewhere with that by the time I've become adept enough with guitar for it to really be needed.

I think it might cost a bit more since I play left-handed, though... Ugh.

Haha, I've been thinking about taking up classical myself. I play electric and bass, so I know the basics.
:D

It's just... they're pretty expensive. Haha.

Ahah, I was the same way when I started. I used to do noise and breakcore, sometimes a bit of gabber, and look at me now--polar opposite of what I used to do.

Don't limit yourself! You'll find a sound you like in due time.

Haha, hey! Yeah, I have dozens of song reversal videos on my Youtube but the only ones that get a good amount of hits are Roygbiv by Boards of Canada and Fingerbib/4 by Aphex Twin.

Thanks for adding! Hope everything's going well.
:)

Really liking your last two songs by the way, not that the first two are bad... I just really REALLY dig ambient music and the last couple are more appealing to that audience.
Keep it up :D
