Like a farcical ouiji board ArtemesiaBlack compose voix de ville chamber songs about the loves and misfortunes from the Departed. Weaving together haunting vocals, double bass, cello, acoustic and electric guitars, harmonies, percussion, to create a sound that is captivating and heartfelt and just a little bit quirky. Live shows are exciting and inventive and very entertaining...

"10/10 There is not a bad song on ArtemesiaBlack. This is easily one of the best albums I’ve heard this year. Everything about it is perfect from the beautifully crafted songs to the haunting performances. The arrangements are spellbinding, fresh and interesting and the production is flawless. I will be listening to ArtemesiaBlack over and over again as well as introducing it to my friends. This is a great album."
Muse's Muse Magazine CD Review
We see dead people. We like them. Because we usually don’t have to pick up after them and like some people, you can see right through them. They say the dead tell no tales. Ha! We say, for we know better. They are more than happy to share their stories if you’ll just shut up long enough to listen.
... Sabine - who’s father was an organ builder, trumpet player and travelled the world, grew up in a castle in the Black Forest with her grandmother who spent most of the day reading to her or telling her stories. At 6 she realized some of those stories did not come from her grandmother but came at night while she was sleeping. Once realizing that she invited her ‘friends’ to play with her which was great because her grandmother was not one for running about or going on adventures. Except when they went to the cemetery, where of course she always collected more friends. One day a handsome stranger from a far-away land who thought her songs about her friends were nice, asked her to live with him. It’s a little crowded but they all get on pretty well.
... Kenny - was raised by wolves. When he was found he preferred to live in his new parents’ basement because it was cool and dark and reminded him of his past which he enjoyed. They would bring him food and instruments to amuse himself which he mastered. Food he was not so interested in. To this day he has an affinity with dogs and often howls when he is cross, but mostly he’s a very happy fellow with lots of friends. For many years he was considered a far-sighted artistic visionary until he finally removed the 400mm telephoto lenses he used as glasses. He still keeps them by his bedside just in case.
... David - no one knows much about his childhood, and no one dares ask. All anyone knows is he’s a mad scientist, can perform surgery if required and plays all manner of stringed instruments bowed and plucked as well as singing all the really low notes in our songs. He is on a mission to create the world’s largest string ball made entirely out of used instrument strings in order to alter the earth’s gravitational field to his taste. He has been known to pilfer them from pianos in auditoriums and dumpsters in his quest. The band is afraid to visit him in his laboratory.
... Rain - was raised in a traveling circus in a family of 9 children. Contortionists, clowns and freaks, a strange life, she ran away at age 13 to find a ‘normal’ life, which she never found. She mastered the sound of one hand clapping in African and Middle Eastern polyrhythms and in the key of Bb, making quite a name for herself. Her
idea of fun is twisting people into interesting shapes.
... Michael flies around in a home-made airplane. They are not quite sure exactly where he comes from or indeed how they know him. All they know is one day a quiet but very funny man simply appeared and he was really good at banging things together.

Sounds Like:
ghost stories, the wind at night, dark, moody, shadows that move, alternative gothic swamp lullabies...
a broken heart... a great expanse of water... feeling the breeze on your face... catching a fragrance in the wind... falling... meeting someone you know is not alive and liking them very much...
