Atrax Mantis are a five piece Death Metal from Kilkenny, Ireland.
Atrax formed in 2004 as a four piece, Dylan Lawless (Guitar), James Meany (Ex-vocalist), Darran Guilfoyle (Bass) and James Quinn (Drums).
In 2005 the band recruited a second guitarist named Eoin Brett. Now a five piece, after two years of gigging James Meany left Atrax Mantis in 2006, soon after Atrax recruited new vokillist T.
With their new line-up Atrax have exploded on to the Irish Metal scene, winning the Kilkenny"Battle of the Bands" in 2007 and have shared the stage with Death Metal legands SANATORIUM, ABYSMAL TORMENT and will be supporting DESECRATION.
Just recently our guitarist (Eoin) left due to pesonal issues,but this has not stopped the onslaughter of brutallity and we are now seeking a new guitarist and have Finished recording our debut CD "Condemned to Hatred" which is due for release this September

Kilkenny's regular All Ages Gig - Underground - returns on Sunday October 12 to The Zoo Club, 40 Parliament Street - with Chemical Addiction, Sticky Digit and the 2008 Battle of the Bands winners - South.
