Our songs are rooted in the places where we were born & raised, & the places we’ve been grafted onto since, & the people & things we’ve seen & cannot forget. We work to make them simple & truthful, & work to make them sweet in the ears of anyone who needs them, whether their luck’s been good & stayed good, or their traveling’s been hard. - Timmy Gallogly
Music to me is something more akin to farming, labor, woodcutting, well digging, carpentry, and the rest of life's toils. Singing is like pruning my apple trees, like
planting garlic, sowing a cover crop for the winter. It is life; it is joy. It offers a connectedness to life for me. - Jonathan Miller
You were phenomenal at Rockwood on Saturday night, Aug 9th. I'm only sorry more people didn't come out to see you. Even when people were talking through your music, you kept going and you won them over with your soul. And beautiful, beautiful music. Without your drummer, you still managed to rock the house. I look forward to seeing you whenever you're in town. You are what inspire me and others to make music.
I was just browsing myspace music and came across your page- your music hit me and the sound you create gives off such a great feeling of warmth and sensitivity really cathartic- it makes me think of autumn. i cant find any other artists that hit the exact spot that you do- your music to me is just so beautiful and unpretentious, i especially like that song ballad of two loves xx
I have been listening to Midnight Folly not exclusively since I picked it up at the barn show but pretty darn close. When I turn on the radio I start to lose my faith in people's current ability to create anything good, like all the good stuff to say has been said and all there seems to be left is suck. Then you come across the independent bands that don't want to sell you their line but share something with you. You've gone beyond something good which is hard enough to find to create something timeless and beautiful. Thank you.
sorry i missed you guys at the Filmore last night. i wish i was able to get out of work early to head out and enjoy the show. i was very down about it. i hope to see you perform soon. yours, jd
