A few days after Christmas, Timothy Dick called me from Canada & asked me if I wanted to drive up Rochester the next night, to play some music. He told me that Jonathan Miller, another singer, was on his way up from the Southern tier, & they’d like it if I could be there.
Back in winter of ‘05, I’d decided to give Brooklyn another try, & arrived just a few months after Timothy’s first boy was born.
Since then, I’ve lived a lot of life with Timothy & his family, and when he called me up & asked me if I’d like to start a band with him & Jonathan, where we’d all play each other’s songs, I didn’t wait around & ask questions.
Our songs are rooted in the places where we were born & raised, & the places we’ve been grafted onto since, & the people & things we’ve seen & cannot forget. We work to make them simple & truthful, & work to make them sweet in the ears of anyone who needs them, whether their luck’s been good & stayed good, or their traveling’s been hard.

so bummed i had to miss the show @ boulder. i was waiting tables and wishing i could be at boulder on a comfy couch, sipping joe, and watching my friends sing.... next gig!!

Guys, these songs are incredible. I'm so impressed, My First Soul is moving me, my body is swaaayyyin' with these songs, they're slow and cordial. When the fall comes around, I will experience these songs further than the comfort I receive from them after being morose for a day. The orange leafs will match this all perfectly. Thank you all.
