"..flavoursome guitaring – gruff blues licks that hit some nerve in your brain that can't be over-ridden by rational thought."
Sean Dagan Wood, Guestlist Music.
."..made up of thickly condensed riffs and chord hugging vocal lines. The guitar break is very much in keeping with this foggy fuzz of modern Seattle blues and very well done it is too." Manchester Music.
Ayatana are a three piece band from Manchester playing bluesy hard rock with groove. The band was formed by Mike Brotherton and Matt Fitzpatrick late in 2006. Eddie Wastnidge joined the band over the summer months completing the line up after the departure of Dan Leigh earlier this year. Their four track demo EP, recorded in '07, led to a string of successful gigs at venues such as Dry Bar, Night & Day, The Ruby Lounge, as well as a live appearance on the Artradio project at The Cornerhouse and some other local radio airplay. Ayatana’s live performances in particular have been well received; this is documented in a review from Guest List Music of the band at ‘In the City’, October 20th ‘07 at the Ruby Lounge.
Recently, Ayatana have been writing and rehearsing new material for upcoming gigs and plan to enter the studio in the coming months.

ARFICEDEN
Sexy 3 piece , awesome drumming, big dirty dub bass lines and plenty of noise coming from 1 guitar. Giving jazz a good name!!
IYE
Stoke 7 piece guitar orchestra making big swoooshing soundscapes and still managing to find room for some 3 piece harmonies. Holy shit balls!
A MIDDLE SEX
I'll be buggered if I can describe it- basically a lot of noises- electronics and other stuff going through distorted amplification. Improvisation and some rather sweet rhythmic stuff occuring.

Downstairs our post-rock extravaganza is headlined by the mighty Vessels who have just got back from recording in America and are so good it should be illegal.
