The Engineer:
My name is Jonny Fay, and I am the owner and operator of Backyard Studios in Milford, NH. I graduated as Salutatorian from Full Sail in Orlando, FL with a Recording Arts Degree in September of 2005. I am a certified Digidesign Pro Tools Operator with a constantly evolving musical palette. Having played guitar and written songs for The Red Chord, Deadwater Drowning and others, I have a well-established background in today’s extreme music scene. These experiences and others over time have helped tune my ear to the heavier styles of music that I often find myself recording. However, I have been branching out into several different genres, and I am always eager to learn and to challenge myself. I will record anything from spoken word and acoustic folk songs to pop punk and brutal death metal, and everything in between. I love every step of building a record, from the songwriting and production of the individual instruments to recording, mixing and listening back to the finished product.
The Studio:
Backyard Studios is a professional recording studio with a relaxed and comfortable vibe in the woods of New Hampshire. My goal here is to give bands excellent, quality recordings that faithfully represent their music and vision for a reasonable price. I personally feel that one of the best ways to do that is to create a warm and non-threatening environment, where artists can feel at ease and have a great time hearing their creations come to life. After all, music is supposed to be fun, right?
