IN simpler times, calling a sub-genre of emotionally driven music EMO
would be unneccessary. Then again, in simpler times there'd be no
MySpace, so do come in...
I spend a good part of my life chiseling away at this music - on a
good day you can tell. Never mind what I did or didn't do in High
School - it was too long ago, and even then it was a bit of a blur...I fell out of High School and landed in MAZARIN, my first working band, and I've made my living in music ever since. FLASH FOWARD to December 2005, when I first experienced Europe as a "Troubadour," playing pubs in Copenhagen, Denmark for two straight months... Then I played in the Swiss Alps (I like high stages), where apparently every night it's Saturday - do they use a different calendar???
The good news: all that time away playing six nites a week
accelerated my musical growth and stamina (otherwise known as chops),
while affording me the head space to write most of my CD-in-progress, working title: "FIRST GLANCE"
As BARON SAINT JAMES, I spent 2007 as the newest minstrel in BLACKMORE'S NIGHT, a 7-piece Renaissance-tinged folk/rock experience, whose founding father just happens to be living legend RITCHIE BLACKMORE (of DEEP PURPLE fame). While I trotted the globe as their bassist/acoustic rhythm guitarist, I continued to write. You can sample some of the results, or something like them, here. Hope you do.....
really like Maybe Someday Barry...it's been ages....hope you've been enjoying the spring..laughs...didn't know it was here....have a great holiday...talk to you soon, C
