Bash Back! Lansing is an autonomous pod of the National Bash Back! network that was first formed in April of 2008 in Chicago. The purpose was to organizing a queer and trans response to the self-proclaimed "Republican" and "Democratic" National Conventions. Until now, trans and queer organizing has been all but invisible at these events as well as in the Anarchist community in general. While recognized as a major form of oppression, queer/trans space has never been a focus for this hetero and "traditionally gendered" dominated movement. Making ourselves visible has been a main focus for Bash Back! as well as confronting all hetero-sexism, transphobia and all interlocking oppressions. We are successfully working to build a long lasting network of radical Transfolk, Queers and Anarcha-Feminists. We encourage all like minded radical TransFolk and Queers in other cities to form their own Chapter of Bash Back! (let us know if you want some help facilitating that.) UPDATE: Bash Back! Lansing was the organizer of the action that confronted the Mount Hope Church (a deplorable anti-queer mega church). And because the police did not file charges, an anti-choice, anti-queer, organization of rich lawyers called the ALLIANCE DEFENSE FUND (ADF- a right wing version of ACLU)- has stepped up to slap us with a lawsuit. WE CANNOT LOSE THIS CASE!!! Besides owing the rich christian right MORE money, if these fascists win the injunction, it will become illegal to confront churches and hold them accountable for their bigotry!!! THIS IS A LANDMARK CASE, FRIENDS!!!! we need your support. We have wonderful pro-bono support from the NATIONAL LAWYERS GUILD!! But there will be mad expenses. So please please please DONATE!!! We are currently working on a "War on the Gender Queer" zine, which will depict the stories of murdered trans people and why a militant reaction is so necessary. As well as a section on creating trans positive spaces in the readers immediate life.

POINTS OF UNITY
Members of Bash Back! must agree to:
1. Fight for liberation. Nothing more, nothing less. State recognition in the form of oppressive institutions such as marriage and militarism are not steps toward liberation but rather towards heteronormative assimilation.
2. A rejection of Capitalism, Imperialism, and all forms of State power.
3. Actively oppose oppression both in and out of the "movement." All oppressive behavior is not to be tolerated.
4. Respect a diversity of tactics in the struggle for liberation. Do not solely condemn an action on the grounds that the State deems it to be illegal.
