THE BATTLEFIELD BALLADEERS perform music dating back to the time of the War Between the States. Our repertoire includes songs written for the war, popular music from the minstrel shows, Stephen Foster favorites, sentimental, patriotic, and humorous songs.
We introduce each song with an historic quote or reason why the song was important and/or popular. We want our audience to clap their hands, sing along and have fun with us as we celebrate the pageantry and musical hertiage of America's Civil War.
BATTLEFIELD BALLADEERS have performed for:
-The opening of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum in Springfield ,IL
-The Chicago Historical Society (now the Chicago History Museum)
-The Lincoln Museum in Ft. Wayne , Indiana
-The Civil War Battlefields of Selma, Alabama and Perryville, Kentucky
-Numerous libraries, historical societies, reenactments and museums in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.
-We also perform at schools, home school gatherings, municipal festivals and senior centers , thus ensuring a Civil War Music fan base from ages eight to eighty!
