Before the Show is a band hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. They’ve just finished recording their debut album consisting of 9 edgy, psychedelic and soulful pieces of rock music and they now set out to conquer any curious ear and blackened heart.
Originally it started out as a solo project for multi-instrumentalist Laurids Smedegaard, who needed an outlet for his own music while being on tour with other bands. He would often work on songs just hours before he went on stage, eventually became the reason for the name “Before the Show”.
In 2008 Before the Show grew with an additional 4 musicians, who all shared Smedegaards passion for melancholic rock like Red House Painters and Death Cab for Cutie, as well an enthusiasm for the american and british math rock scene.

Programmet til Nye rødder 09 er klar. Ambitionsniveauet er højnet men vi forbliver i samme hyggelige lokaler i Magstræde.
Vi glæder os til Howe Gelb og Giant Sand, Tony Scherr, Islandske ólöf Arnalds, og ikke mindst hvad der kan blive den bedste koncert overhovedet i efteråret The Whale watching tour (Sam Amidon, Valgeir Sigurdsson,Ben Frost, Nico Muhly + gæster). Hver især er de 4 verdenskendt for deres arbejde med Antony and the johnsons, Grizzly bear, Bonnie prince billy, Björk og mange flere nu spiller de for første gang sammen på dansk grund.
Ud over de udenlandske navne spiller bla. Robot feat. Claus Hempler Slaraffenland Er de Sjældne The rumour said fire Cody og mange flere......

Fedt & tak man! Glæder mig til at du skal høre pladen. Hvornår får man lov til at høre Jeres plade?? Jeg glæder mig også og "Status" er stadigvæk også et kæmpe fedt nummer! I er nu også på min top venner, hvilket I burde have været for længst. Det er nok et af de områder på myspace, hvor jeg er dårligst til at opdatere.
