Evil Twin Is A Must-Have Rock 'n' Roll Smash-Up!!!

"....brilliantly surpasses its predecessor..... a savage, brutal rock and roll smash-up that will have rock fans smiling.
Absolutely chock full of broken glass, barbed wire, and twisted metal, GMT has provided a show-no-quarter/take-no-prisoners album....
This album is the real deal-a must-have for any rock and roller worth his or her salt-GET A COPY NOW!......"
Brent A. Soileau, Deep Purple Hub

"Their time has come....Evil Twin is so raw, it makes sushi taste like seven-month-old haddock...." (Geoff Barton)
Read Evil Twin review in UK Classic Rock Magazine Feb 09 here

"..It's an ear shattering album full of trademark catchy guitar mastery and spine chilling bass lines atop a thundering beat, added with what I consider Bernie Torme's best vocal performance of his career..."
Larry Toering (Deep Purple Underground Forums) Read full review HERE

GMT Evil Twin is Loaded with Power. From the starting gun of this album, Punko Rocco (Featuring Dee Snider of Twisted Sister on vocals).(...)
The album is a tidal wave of pure music guts and all. It is a rock and roll statement not to be forgotton. Each song is in your face, the wild masters at work.
Gritty spice swirled into truth and real leathery vibrations of solid sound. There is no filler music, just pure heavy real solid rock and roll.

Are you ready to rock and roll? This album should be turned up to 10. Each story is a true testement from the real source
Bernie Torme stands the test of time. Unchained and truely. An album everyone should get.You will play this over and over.
GET YOURS NOW!! GMT EVIL TWIN.

(Bahama Kin , CMO1 Connecticut Music Online)

"........ An outstanding, raw brutal study of merciless hard rock with a slightly punkish attitude........... Dee Snider on guest vocals......... It's heavy, dirty and phat......... rips the air in front of the speakers to pieces............!"
janne stark -
Sweden Rock MAGAZINE (complete review in translation here)

"Does the album have huge licks?....... Oh does it ever!........ the playing is top notch ........ it's a roller coaster ride through the ups and downs, swings and turns of rock n roll. And everything is held together perfectly....."
overall rating 9/10
Mike Elliott for Komodo Rock

"...(GMT) up the ante, creating a soundscape where heavy, punk -like riffs coexist with psychedelic Hendrix influenced guitar overtones and intelligent lyrics, all served up with a unique British flavor.......... something really special.......... Tabbed by this site as "Album Of The Month" for December....... the chemistry of this band cannot be denied..... passion fueled music which is only driven by their love of playing... which is how it should be.

Nightwatcher's House Of Rock
Top 10 Albums of 2008

"...Evil Twin is vintage Torme craziness, a slashing, smashing slab of wild beast throb that will have you air-guitaring like an idiot for days."

(scroll down)

"Coming on like a crazy cross between ZZ Top and prime-time Alice Cooper, GMT cleverly catapult every kind of rock music into their huge sound to stunning effect..."

Evil Twin is a must have, so few bands today have the ability to inject that urgency into the music that grabs the listener....
I did not smell a single filler track on this one.....

Blogger News Network (Simon Barrett)

".... 'Evil Twin' to their debut, an even more nasty collection of wild songs featuring Torme's blistering guitar licks, rock solid rhythms, and most importantly, memorable, hard rockin' tunes.............ten tracks of 'get on your feet and rock' tunes.......

"Just like its predecessor, “Evil Twin” is an album that has to be experienced. Thought it's dirty and basic rock, there's so much going on during the 10 songs that it's impossible to get bored...."

"Those who doubted the British trio would retain the level of intensity set in 2006 with "Bitter & Twisted" should run in fear ..... the veterans do deliver....." (Dmitry Epstein)

.

"'Punko Rocco' starts the album off in fine rocking style and features guest vocals from Twisted Sister's Dee Snider ..... As an album opener you won't find many finer!" (Jason Ritchie)

"...You only have to listen to this CD once to understand that there is a remarkable chemistry between them that makes Evil Twin a very special album."(Dean Pedley)

..."they couldn't give a shit, they let it all hang out... GMT is murderously good fun!"

Marshall Amps likes "Evil Twin"

"..The guitar sounds really big and growly in the rocky tracks and it has that nice spanky fat clean tone on the blues song a la Hendrix.
There's no mistaking John (McCoy's) bass on any record and this is no exception..........."

From Steve Dawson "the man who's responsible for the design of the Vintage Modern" (Marshall Amplification)

"GMT's debut album was one of the revelations of 2006. A thunderous, roaring opus full to the brim with raw excitement. It was always going to be a difficult act to follow..... John McCoy and Robin Guy must surely be one of the most powerful rhythm sections ever assembled and Bernie Tormé is undoubtedly the gypsy king of guitarists &150; screaming away with a wonderfully wild abandon... Evil Twin is a joy to listen to....... ."

"There's tons of killer numbers on here ... If you only buy one album ...make sure that it's GMT"

REVIEWS AND INTERVIEWS:

This is an album that is on 11 from the start – it blows up in your face and pulls no punches throughout. There are literally loads of great songs on here - take the heavy-weight opener ‘Cannonball’ as a brilliant example; the deep-rooted ‘Rocky Road (from Dublin) that has Ireland all over it; the old-school Saxon-esque ‘Can’t beat rock ‘n’ roll’ – you never can dude.
You can simply not get tired of playing this album from time to time as there is a lot of variety to as opposed to one single rock genre. I love the way in ‘Miss the Buzz’ ...... they mix kinda proggy-blues with a late Beatle-like arrangement or go for an atmospheric Doorsy vibe in ‘Summerland’ that also has the power of a heavy-ripping who number at the right moment. Then there’s the extravagant ‘Vincenzo’ that closes the CD.
A real glower and grower of an album – looking forward to seeing them live and hearing the next release from GMT !

"Possibly the sleeper hit of the year for people who are tired of cookie monster vocals and hardcore/lowcore/rotten-to-the-core, is the new CD by Bernie Tormé, John McCoy and Robin Guy, otherwise known as GMT. GMT's record Bitter & Twisted is simply put, phenomenal. Bernie has a guitar sound that just warms the cockles of the heart with his fuzz-driven, torque-y sound while John and Robin combine for a rhythm section that is potentially combustible. The record is a true labor of love, evident from even a cursory listen, offering up 11 perfect gems without a note that you would think was just tossed off carelessly..." Morley Seaver

"Take one listen to Bitter & Twisted by GMT to make you remember what six-strings should sound like... This is a gritty guitar-driven record that is simply a joy to listen to .... McCoy and Guy crank into a belligerent rhythm that sounds like a brontosaurus locked in a tea shop" Morley Seaver

"Once you pop in the rocking debut, 'Bitter & Twisted' from GMT (Guy McCoy Torme), its like throwing a lit match in a pool of gasoline! Coming at you like a battering ram the trio unleash their rock fury with...Like the late Joe Strummer and Rancid, GMT have not only embraced Punk, but elevate it to its truest art and rawest form. Combining it around richly textured power guitar hooks and an attitude that would bring a brama bull to its knees. There is something incredibly special about this band." (The Atomic Chaser)

"Bitter & Twisted" - The title says it all and makes you think of something as raw and heavy as gin and tonic. And the music pretty much meets your expectations! The first chords and pounding drums of the opener Cannon Ball set the tone for the whole record. And it doesn't get any milder even in the ballads as the music is a mix of hard rock and metal!" Kosh

"'Bitter & Twisted' is a fantastic return for Torme and McCoy and on this evidence there is plenty of life left in these two veterans of the Rock scene. By recruiting Robin Guy and coming up with a stunning set of original material they are certainly not playing the nostalgia card and they really do deserve to be heard by a wide audience. Buy this one, it's a real gem."

"...GMT have released an album that not only will peel the paint off your walls, but will definitely perk up the ears of any fan of no nonsense heavy rock, resulting in one of the finest records of the year in the process...Remarkably diverse, especially for the power trio format, what GMT have come up with is a most impressive, cohesive mix of songs certain to find favor with all those who seek this out. Rather than merely playing it safe and coming up with something predictable, these three extremely talented rock veterans have created an album which is as vital as anything being released in heavy rock today, while still retaining enough of the classic elements which brought them recognition in the first place."

"...This album ROCKS and then some!.. think Thin Lizzy meets the Pogues, this album is a sheer joy. As a three piece they exude so much power, in fact a melodic Motorhead would be a near comparison. The power trio as it should be done: no frills rock'n'roll..."

A typically monstrous slab of punk-tinged psychedelic hard rock, overlain with squalling guitars, Whammy bar torture tactics and barely intelligiable, electric soup-fuelled vocals,'Bitter & Twisted' is worth tracking down right away..."

"The debut release from the thundering rock trio... It's a university level course in how to make a dead on balls accurate rock album. - Bloody Brilliant Album:
This is one of the greatest line ups in British/Irish Rock music for many a year. Bernie, John and Robin....I have waited for a good few years for the McCoy/Torme collaberation and what an album it is too!! It sounds like they have just mikedeverything up, played as live and done the business!! Who needs loads of overdubs?? You never get what it sounds like on the album usually, but with this one,I can close my eyes and imagine the crowd in the background. AWESOME is the word. And I love Rocky Road to Dublin....obviously the N11 from Arklow!!
P.D.Brennan (review on amazon.co.uk)

Were it not the veterans but clean-faced boys behind these songs, the album would ferociously bite into the charts. But this band are too bitter and too twisted which requires a good taste to relish them.

Guy McCoy Torme

It has been said of Irish guitarist Bernie Tormé that he plays his vintage Fender Stratocaster through a Marshall Amplifier as though he knew them in a previous life.

Bernie played in Dublin band The Urge (among others) in the early 70's before relocating to London in 74, where he initially played with heavy pub rockers Scrapyard, and later formed the punk Bernie Torme Band in 76-77, touring with The Boomtown Rats and Generation X among many others.

In 79 Bernie joined ex Deep Purple singer Ian Gillan's band Gillan, and had a crucial role in the bands success, writing and playing on four top ten albums and many hit singles. Following his departure from Gillan, he played with Ozzy Osbourne, standing in for the great Randy Rhoads following Randy's tragic death in an air crash. Bernie joined forces with ex Girl and current LA Guns front man Philip Lewis in Torme during the 80's, as well as playing with legendary keyboard player Vincent Crane as a member of psychedelic doom rockers Atomic Rooster.

Bernie also played with Twisted Sister's Dee Snider and Iron Maiden's drummer Clive Burr in Desperado. Desperado's "Ace" album has finally just been released in the UK on AngelAir Records (cat no Sjpcd154) and in the US on Cleopatra (cat no CLP..1644-2)

Bernie is currently working with bassist man mountain John McCoy, also ex Gillan and psycho-slamming drummer Robin Guy under the band name Guy McCoy Torme, or G.M.T. for short.
