The Better Living Show...A New Show for a New Mindset.
In partnership with the Energy Trust Better Living Show, Focus the Nation presents a forum for mutual education and engagement on Oregon's opportunity to lead the nation in addressing climate change and creating a more just and prosperous clean energy future.
Join community and business leaders, young climate activists and elected officials from around the state to discuss Oregon's unique renewable energy resources, pioneering climate policy and exceptional Pacific Northwest culture. We'll explore ways to continue Oregon's path towards being not just a national leader, but a model of sustainability to the world and create connections to continue the conversation and carry it into action in 2009.
Here’s a summary of some of the awesome events from our 2008 festival:
Energy Trust of Oregon was our title sponsor, and with their investments in efficient technologies, cost-effective conservation, and renewable energy, we were honored to be working with them. At the show they built a house showcasing energy efficient appliances, solar panels, and other environmentally friendly household products.

The Better Living Show also honored Earth Hour on March 29 to show our support for this amazing and world changing event. 24 cities across the world, along with thousands of businesses and individuals, participated in Earth Hour 2008 by turning off their lights for an hour, illustrating how a little change can save a lot of energy.
Our environmental festival also hosted many interesting speakers and events such as Pachamama's Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium. The Symposium explored the link between three of humanity's most critical concerns: environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment.
Portland Fashion Week had a spring fashion show and panel discussion by eco-designers.
Other exciting features such as the Kid's Corner and Gardens Gone Wild! can be seen on our Features Page

Did you know that it's Beautiful Women Month? Well, it is and that means you!!!
I'm supposed to send this to FIVE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN, and you are one of them!!!
Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her "beauty tips?" It was read at her funeral years later.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness...For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone... People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
If you share this with another woman, something good will happen. You will boost another woman's self esteem, and she will know that you care about her.
It's BEAUTIFUL Women Month Hugs, Squeeeeeze!!! You've been given a hug.
