Start off with a riff, then a second riff is added followed by thundering drums, an angelic vocalist for the melody , and then top it off with a monster bass line, you will get a picture of what Beyond 12 is. Beyond 12 is a modern rock band based out of Indianapolis Indiana. The one thing that sets the band apart from other bands is our focus. What is the focus you might ask? Beyond 12 has a focus to reach many people with a message. A message that is simple and that will plant a seed in the hearts of people who might need a change in their life or might need to be challenged for something different. Our message is to share our music with a Christian message . Beyond 12 is Lance Kolenda, Rod Fogle, Natalie Kolenda, Aaron Olvey and Scott Way. The band has made it their mission to play at small & large venues, festivals, clubs, and wherever we can take the message. Are you ready for Beyond 12?

"Mount Carmel" is downright heavy, featuring the guitar talents of
Rod Fogle and Lance Kolenda. Rarely, if ever, has a parable warning against false prophets been paired with such a rocking, Heart-like tune.
Other highlights include the lilting and sweet duet "No Matter Where I Am," the insistent and driving "Rise Up" and the ultra-catchy crunch of
"Your Ways."
Though there is no shortage of Christian message throughout Taking Flight, the very fact that the album is so musically rewarding promises listeners a fine stage from which to hear the lyrics. And that’s good news.

Nashville TN Ronn’s engineering credits include many CCM greats, like Michael W. Smith, DC TALK, Kevin Max, Clay Crosse, Tammy Trent, Jars of Clay, ApologetiX, Third Day, Parachute Band, Carman, Sixpence None the Richer, Cindy Morgan, Sonic Flood (that first amazing record they did with Jeff Deyo), Out of Eden, Bob Carlisle, CeCe Winans, Ronnie Freeman, Jonathan Pierce.
Beyond 12 is what I would classify a very diverse band. By diverse I mean that they seem to draw alot of influences from many different genres. Ignited by the powerful vocal abilities of Natalie Kolenda and the talented guitar work of Rod Fogle,Lance Kolenda. Beyond 12’s abilities shine through. Natalie’s voice is very reminiscent of vocalists such as Kim Carnes and Grace Slick. She has the ability to use her voice to her advantage within the different genres that Beyond 12 experiments with. On "Tormented Mind" she brings out her raspy vocals and then on "No Matter Where I Am" she shows her country vocal abilities. My favorite song "Your Ways" is where Natalie’s vocals shine through for me as she shows her vocal range and uses this range to help this song rock even harder than it already does. Beyond 12 seem to have a great cohesivness as a band with excellent musicianship and a sound that is very tight. As far as the different genres go Beyond 12 experiments with everything from Praise and Worship on "Travail" and "Here I Am" to country on "No Matter Where I Am" and blues on "New Heart". But to me Beyond 12 is at it’s best when they just flat out rock on songs like "Tormented Mind" and "Your Ways". I may be a little bias saying that this is my favorite style that they bring to the table but the fact is I do run Christian Xtreme and I like to rock. Lyrically Beyond 12 goes above and beyond the call of duty as they praise the name of Jesus Christ in every song they sing, and to me that’s what Christian music should be about. Overall I’d have to say that I really like what I hear from Beyond 12. They show the courage to experiment and challenge themselves to try different things. The production quality is above average and sounds very good to me. As I said before the musicianship is very good. I definately look forward to what this band has got to offer in the future.
