Big Barn Door Studios was created in 2004 by Jay Richards for the purpose of various home recordings. Big Barn Door has been collaborated on a plethora of projects since that time but it's main purpose has always been as a medium for Jay to share his music with friends, family, and all those interested. The resulting music led to the formation of a band in 2006 originally known as Bakelite Tuxedo and eventually metamorphosizing into the sonic extravaganza known as Tundra Fun. This band has slowly become one of the most consistent bands in Southern Ontario touring from Sault St. Marie, On. to Sherbrooke PQ. and hundreds of venues in between. In the spring of 2008 Tundra Fun began a monthly residency at Not My Dog on Queen St. West where the laid back atmosphere and savvy parkdale regulars have provided a home base for Tundra Fun to essentially rehearse to an audience. Tundra Fun can be found at Not My Dog every third friday of the month rain or shine. Currently Tundra Fun is diligently workshopping in a house somewhere in the beaches of Toronto to develop produce a 4-song LP. In March Tundra Fun will be joining Big In China on the road for two dates in Montreal and Lennoxville.

That was a great set by Tundra Fun at Rancho Relaxo. Grounded in a raw take on funk, soul, and blues, this trio delivers an eclectic breadth of styles that’s bursting with irresistible rhythm. Anchored by ace guitarist Jay Richards, the band ventures into territory that covers the shining pop-soul of Stevie Wonder, free-flowing improvisations of Can, to the earthy jam-fueled grooves of Phish. A slinky fusion of jamdom that opens the door to 70’s vinyl.
Hey guys, thanks for squeezing us in on the night. It was a fun little show. We're back in Vancouver now, we're doing some west coast/interior stuff over the summer but we might be back out your way in October. Stay in touch!
Hey
Just a wee message to let you know that to celebrate this album launch in good old Toronto I've put up on my page 3 live tracks from my show in Seattle in May, all for FREE download. Go on, grab 'em and enjoy.
Its nice to be in Canada.

Justin
