Bleakness was born as an unnamed project, in late 2005. In those days Leonel Arregui and Juan Manuel Reyes, both guitarists, joined to record some tracks and got into the search of other musicians. Within a few days, joined two friends of the band, Marcelo Gonçalves do Santos in drums, and Diego Rodríguez taking the voices, then came Fabio Rojas, who took the bassist job, so the band was complete, and they began playing music by June of 2006.
The name bleakness came up very soon, because this word is the one that expresses the feelings that the band wanted to reflect in their letters.
In late 2007, Bleakness published his first demo, "Out of Here", which consists of three songs and a bonus track.
At the end of 2008, after 2 years of “bleak Rocking”, for several stages of the capital and interior of Argentina, Diego Rodríguez and Fabio Rojas decided to leave the band for personal motives.
After several meetings, bleakness decided to add Cristián Fabre, who takes charge of the voices and Guillermo Pájaro as bassist for the live shows, and getting into the design of the paths, that will come in the next musical year 2009, and the future of this band with new members, profile and new tracks, but with the same strength and melancholy that define them.
Bleakness nació como un proyecto sin nombre a fines del 2005. Por aquel entonces Leonel Arregui y Juan Manuel Reyes ambos guitarristas se juntaron a grabar unos temas y se pusieron en búsqueda de los demás músicos. A los pocos días se unieron dos amigos de la banda, Marcelo Gonçalves dos Santos en batería y Diego Rodríguez. en voz, y de la mano de Diego llego Fabio Rojas que se sumo en el bajo y así la banda comenzó sus ensayos en de junio de 2006.
El nombre bleakness apareció pronto, pues esa palabra es la que mejor expresa los sentimientos que la banda quería reflejar en sus letras.
A fines del 2007 se edito su primer demo, “Out of Here”, el cual consta de 3 canciones y un bonus track.
Luego de girar durante casi 2 años por varios escenarios de capital e interior deciden a fines del 2008 abandonar la banda Diego Rodríguez y Fabio Rojas por motivos personales.
Luego de varias reuniones bleakness decide sumar a Cristian Fabre, quien se hace cargo de las voces y a Guillermo Pájaro como bajista para los shows en vivo y así diagramar lo que será el 2009 y el futuro de esta banda con nuevos integrantes y nuevos temas pero con la misma fuerza y melancolía que los caracteriza.
